This tour will take you to one of the most beautiful and most visited regions in Iceland. During the two days you will drive along the famous South Coast to admire the beauty of Icelandic nature.

On your first day we will take you to the most known waterfalls in the South, Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss. These picture-perfect waterfalls are on the bucket list of almost all travellers visiting Iceland. To add even more to this experience on our tour you will also have an opportunity to see two less known but equally beautiful waterfalls – Irafoss and Gljufrabui. Exploring South Coast of Iceland would not be complete without a visit at the Black Beach of Reynisfjara. Just take your time on the beach to admire basalt columns and lava formations rising above the sea level and make sure to have your camera ready to take memorable pictures there!

At the end of the day we will take you to your accommodation. You can select the standard of accommodation during booking process, choosing between hotel, guesthouse or hostel/dormitory standard - you can find more information about the available selection under Good to Know section. Just relax on our premises searching the sky for the Northern Lights which are known to dance on the sky in the area (if weather conditions are favorable).

For second day we will drive further East to reach the famous Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. On our way we stop at Eldhraun lava fields (formed by the largest known lava flow in the world) and at Skaftafell National Park. But the unique beauty awaits you just below the biggest glacier in Europe – Vatnajokull. There you will find the Diamond Beach – a black beach scattered with shattered ice bergs. Here is the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon, where huge icebergs float in ice cold water and seals swim around them and nearby the natural Blue Ice Caves – formed by melting glacial waters trying to make their way to the ocean.

If you want to enjoy the Icelandic nature to the fullest and to witness one of Iceland's most incredible natural phenomenon, then you should book this tour now as availability is very limited.

Please note: it is only possible to bring small carry-on luggage such as backpacks for the tour. See further details under Good To Know section

Day 1 – South Coast, four Waterfalls and Black Beach of Reynisfjara

After a complimentary pick up service within Reykjavik you will kick off East on an unforgettable adventure along the route #1, passing though small towns and the Icelandic countryside. After around 2 hours of driving you will notice a waterfall falling from the high cliffs – this is Seljalandsfoss. It has a 60 meters (200ft) high drop of water, is located underneath Eyjafjallajokull glacier-volcano and is among the most photographed waterfalls in Iceland. Once there remember to follow our guide on the path to secret waterfall – Gljubrabui. This smaller waterfall located in a cave is really worth seeing.

Next on the itinerary is Skogafoss – a classic waterfall that looks like taken straight from a childs drawing. The single cascade of water is a show of true, raw power of nature that must be seen to be believed. You will then have the additional pleasure of visiting another less known waterfall of Irafoss.

Then it is on to Reynisfjara, a black sand beach nestling under Mt. Reynisfjall. Black basalt has been shaped into amazing different formations, most notably the famous Reynisdrangar. Beware the might of the Atlantic Ocean which looms with its powerful waves while admiring lava formations located close to the shore.

At the end of the day we will take you to your accommodation. Remember to keep your head up for the Northern Lights. Our guide will inform you about the possibilities to see them.

Day 2 - Glacier lagoon and the incredible Blue Ice cave

After a good night´s rest and a delicious breakfast, prepare yourself for the second day of your adventure. After a drive through the lovely village of Vik, we will stop at the Eldhraun Lava Fields. The eruption of Laki Volcano in 1700´s caused the biggest lava flow known in history. You will be amazed by the raw scenery formed by this event. Then you stop at the Skaftafell National Park where the spectacular views will take your breath away!

You then continue to the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. This famous lagoon is filled with huge chunks of ice that have cracked off Breiðamerkurjökull glacier (part of Vatnajokull) and float slowly out to sea. Just remember to keep your head up to spot the seals often seen swimming around or resting on the shore. Some icebergs wash up on the shore, lying on the vivid black sand like diamonds on satin and from there, your Ice cave adventure will begin.

The Natural Blue Ice Caves are forming mostly during winter, when the glacier water freezes and makes it safe to go inside them. Each season glacier guides explore and discover newly formed caves and carefully select the ones that will be visited. In order to reach the ice cave, we will take you on the Super Jeep ride. Once close to the cave you will be instructed on how to safely walk on ice and how-to put-on crampons. All safety gear is provided but please remember that good hiking boots are essential (you can rent them out as an extra). After a safety introduction, you can enjoy amazing Blue ice cave from the inside for about an hour – a view that you will most likely never forget.

After this unforgettable adventure, you drive back to the Jokulsarlon where you join the bus again to head back to Reykjavik. On the way back, you will of course be able to enjoy the beautiful nature of the South Coast and to make a quick stop in Vik village for some refreshments, while keeping an eye out for the Northern lights if conditions are right.

Great tour with Roman!

My husband and I took the 2 day South Coast tour with Nicetravel and had a great time! Roman was our tour guide and he really went above and beyond to give us a great experience. We visited all of the sites advertised as well as a few amazing hidden gems that weren't even listed in the tour description. Throughout the drive, Roman shared pieces of the history of Iceland with us and provided detailed information on the sights we were about to see. His enthusiasm for Iceland's sights and history made the drives between the sights pass quickly. The tour was also very well organized with enough time given at all the sights. At the beginning of each day we were given an overview of what our day ahead would look like and then also given information along the way about how long it would be until our next stop. We consistently felt like we were with a trustworthy guide and company. We left with amazing memories and highly recommend this 2 day tour with Nicetravel and Roman as a guide!

The tour was so awesome it allowed us to see the wondersof Iceland! We were lucky to have David as our tour guide who was very knowledgeable and friendly. His sense of humor and fantastic music playlist made the whole journey relaxing and exciting. Highly recommended!!

Great trip with a great company

We had a great time on this trip! The whole tour felt nice and relaxed - not rushed at all. We usually take a private tour as we prefer not to travel with groups but this trip was such better value as a small group - we saved two thirds of the cost and we really enjoyed it! Our guide (marrick) was brilliant and gave us just the right amount of time and information at each stop and took photos of us. There were plenty of stops between the long drives so it didn't get uncomfortable. The hotel we stayed in was lovely and we couldn't fault it. The glacier lagoon and the ice cave were of course the highlights of our tour. Would definitely travel with this company again.

Our 2day trip to South was outstanding!! Each and every detail was well planned. Our tour guide Mr Roman was excellent! He was very friendly, easy going , highly knowledgeable and made sure all the tourists were comfortable and that we all had the best time. He stopped at some I undesignated places as well and made our trip more memorable.! The tour by itself is very well designed with the right amount of points of interest and rest. The Nice travels hostel was also neat, cozy, and comfortable. The host and hostess were excellent. We highly recommend this tour to everyone visiting Iceland as it takes off the pressure to drive and is completely well planned. The glacier lagoon, Ice cave and Reynsfara &Diamond beaches were spectacular! We had an amazing time! Beautiful memories etched forever!! Thank you NiceTravel!!

Incredible trip - well worth the money

The 2 day trip to South Iceland was absolutely amazing. Our guide (really sorry I'm not sure how to spell his name but he gave us his "English name" of Ernie 😉) was incredible: so friendly, knowledgeable and always wanting to ensure we saw the best things. This 2 day trip was definitely the highlight of our 5 days in Iceland and worth every penny. The scenary we saw on this trip was out of this world and something we will never forget. Walking on the glacier and going into the Ice cave on the second day was incredibly beautiful and something I've never experienced before. Thank you to "Ernie" and Nice Travel for the best two days.

We had an EXCELLENT tour throughout the South Coast of Iceland. We hit all of the spots that we wanted to see and our guide gave us plenty of time at each location. Valdi was an AMAZING guide who was very funny and kind. We stayed overnight at a hostel, which was an incredible experience. The food was excellent and the facilities were the nicest ones that we had throughout our whole stay in Iceland! Would highly recommend Valdi and Nice Travel!

Don't miss this trip!

We know Iceland quite well, and yet this was the most breathtaking trip we've had there! Nice Travel is in fact incredibly nice with an individual, warm approach! Not only did they pick us up from our doorstep, but also managed to organize vegan options for us for breakfast. Our guide (an Italian, I believe his name was Andreas - apologies if I'm wrong) was very informative, professional, caring. Despite having an incredibly hard job (our travel companions turned out to be a group who was very loud, never on time, and did not listen to anything, including putting on seatbelts + on our way back the weather made the driving conditions dangerous), he managed to stay on top of it all, be calm and friendly. When we go to Iceland again, this is certainly the tour company we will choose. Karolina & Ola from Poland

I had a wonderful time on this trip and could not fault a thing! The tour guide Giuseppe was super informative, friendly and accommodating! The benefits of this type of tour is definitely the ability to go to places a bit off the beaten track which you would not get with a large group and I would definitely recommend! There was also a reasonable amount of time at each stop so the tour did not feel rushed. If you only have time for one tour I would pick this over the golden circle!

Excellent trip!! Our guide David is just awesome, he is interesting and very informative during the whole trip. He also showed us lots of attractions not included in the trip. The whole trip is so well organized, and we were able to see the Northern Lights during both days. Everything is just perfect and memorable.

Great Tour

We really really enjoyed this tour even we couldn't go to the Dimond beach and Blue ice cave because bad weather, but our tour guide Kristian found a second plan which we could go to different ice cave and, stopped by another waterfall and Lava museum on the way back to Reykjavik.
He was very kind and friendly, also very knowledgeable and never got bored whole journey.
The Nice hostel was very clean and lady was very friendly.
Elisa who exchange email before bought this tour was very friendly, informative and quick response.
I differently recommend this company and this tour also I will use Nicetravel next time.

The best tour that I made in Iceland

We spent 2 days in the south coast , we've visited the glacier Jokursarlon, the waterfalls, lava fiels and the amazing Ice Cave. I have to say the our guide, Valdi, was the best guide we could ever have: kind, funny and comprensive person. We spent the night in a really nice hostel, where the food was delicious and the staff really kind. In the first day we visited the waterfalls, lava fields and the black beach; in the second day the glacier lagoon, the Ice Cave and the diamond beach. Go up to the glacier was one of the most wonderfull and incredible things that I ever do in my life!! Thank you so much guys!

Wow!! What a wonderful tour this is. Our guide Skulli was so knowledgeable and made the tour the best it could be. He showed us an Iceland that we wouldn't have seen if not for him. The hostel we stayed in was clean and comfortable. The Blue Ice Cave tour Jòn was brilliant and again very knowledgeable. We can not recommend this tour enough. Thank you Nice Travel & Jòn. It was the greatest tour experience during our stay in Iceland! Our tour guide David is brilliant, and the best guide/driver i've ever met. He always gave the most useful instructions and recommendations. We were lucky enough to see northern light and had very good pictures. Our way back to Reykjavík had been delayed for 2 hrs due to weather conditions, but David was cheerful and patient and finally sent us to hostels safely around 1 am. Would like to thank David again for his great work and making this trip great.

Fantastic Iceland tour

Our tour guide, Skuli was excellent. He is very friendly, on time, and compassion. We stopped at a lot of beautiful places. The first day was the waterfalls day. Our tour guide took us to the private waterfalls, it is beautiful. Iceland is an amazing place even in the winter time. We spent a night at Hotel Anna. We had dinner there. You have to try the pork belly. It was fantastic. The best in their menu. The only thing that the disadvantage of this hotel is nobody there during the night, and there is the limit of hot water. The second day, we went to the black beach, the diamond beach, and ice cave. Our tour guide for ice cave is Ravnarr. He is unbelievable, funny and experience. Walking on the glacier and seeing ice cave is the one-lifetime experience. I have my daughters, aged 13 and 15 years old in this tour. It is so sad their children may not experience walking on the glacier due to global warming. On the way home, our tour guide, Skuli stopped the bus, and we saw the northern light. Although it is not intense, at least we experienced the northern light. Overall, this tour is a must. Travel in Iceland will not complete without this tour. For Skuli and Ravnarr ( I apologize if I spelled it wrong) thank you so much. Welldone :)

Amazing south coast tour

The weather was beautiful, and top of everything our tour guide was amazing. He even stopped at additional places for us to appreciate the view of the glaciers for a few minutes. His excitement and pride was infectious, and his kind and informative explanations were really great. He even dropped us off at the doorstep of our airbnb at our request. Amazing, amazing tour. The hostel was really beautiful too, with a delicious fresh breakfast spread. It couldn't have been better!

"真的很不错的旅行团,第一天主要都是瀑布和黑沙滩,如果天气不好的话,感觉瀑布和黑沙滩都很一般,没什么意思。但是第二天去看冰洞/钻石沙滩/蓝冰湖都特别美。住的那一晚民宿也很棒。 所以总的来说很推荐。"

Need bigger bus

The bus is too cramp especially for winter season when everyone is wearing such thick jackets. It was also very stuffy and had poor ventilation. Overall the places we went to were very beautiful despite the very miserable weather on the first day. However we feel that it was a very rushed trip and we did not have enough time to fully enjoy the sights. Driver could have been more engaging.

Superb experience with friendly and helpful guide

My husband and I booked this 2 day tour as part of a longer week in Iceland and I am so glad we did as it was far and away the peak of our trip. We were very fortunate to have extraordinarily calm weather for the time of year - no rain and little to no wind in late November - so were able to enjoy the beautiful waterfalls, lava fields, mountains, volcanoes and glaciers to the fullest, clambering over and up rocks to reach certain areas - certainly more interactive than I expected (in a good way)! Obviously this is at the discretion of the guide based on the prevailing conditions. Speaking of, I have to give a special mention to our guide, Andrea. Not only was he very knowledgeable and informative, offering interesting little tidbits about the landscape, geology and history here and there en route, but he was also extraordinarily kind and accommodating towards my mobility-limited husband (whose mobility was seriously aided by some shoe spikes and an ice pick for his walking stick, it's worth noting, for those in the same boat). There were a few moments where my husband needed a little helping hand and while I was, of course, more than prepared to do this myself, Andrea went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that he was safe and comfortable without holding the others up. It wasn't his responsibility to do that and yet he was very caring whilst making sure that everyone else continued to be looked after properly and was having a good time. That really struck a chord for me. Not only that but he was very friendly and approachable in general. The accommodation in Vik was also really warm and homely, and the bus itself was far more comfortable than you expect from a long bus journey! The ice cave tour was, as you might imagine, spectacular, further enhanced by the wry humour of our fantastic glacier guide Ragnar. Honestly, this whole experience was absolutely worth the time and investment and I would wholeheartedly recommend both the tour operator and the experience to anyone.

South Coast 2-Day Tour

The weather was not good as expected. It had been raining and super windy in these two-day tour. Because of safety reason, eventually my most looking-forward activity - Ice Cave was cancelled. But I would say the tour guide, Nicola is very professional and caring all the time. She managed to drive for nearly 10-hour in the windy and rainy day. Iceland is really beautiful and a must place to visit in a lifetime!

Amazing Views, lackluster tour

The sights were breathtaking and will be remembered for a lifetime, so first and foremost, YES, try to see these sights during your trip to Iceland. We had really high hopes after reading reviews about funny and engaging tour guides for a well-rounded tour experience. Our tour guide was helpful and informative one-in-one but seemed reluctant to address the group, so we did not really learn anything about what we were seeing and it felt more like a shuttle than a tour. The bus was extremely cold and all of us aboard wore our hats gloves and mittens both days. We paid $300 extra for this tour bc of it's nicer accommodations than another 2 day tour but still stayed in a shared toilets, shared shower hostel but we did have have a private bedroom. The hostel had two single beds pushed together to make a double. The hostel had great food and ambiance.|h We didn't receive the boots we paid for and had very limited time to see the waterfalls. I understand the necessity of capturing daylight, but we spent far longer at the restaurant than was needed and did not have enough time at Skogafoss so it was like we had to run to snap a picture and run back. In summary, it was the memorable trip of a lifetime to see such surreal beauty, but it was cold, isolated and rushed on much of the tour.

too much waterfall and unhelpfull guide

we saw too much waterfall for the first day and skip the glacier because of it. I think its better to skip one or two small waterfal to see other area. Tour guide never remind everyone to be back on time so people were just always late to the bus. I mean its not fair for those who came in on time and want to be on schedule.. in ice cave, guide are so useless, never help to hold our hand while stepping into steep stairs and no warning about thin ice. when I step into that thin ice the respond was "do you not see the ice?" oh well, if I see that I will not step into it and soak half of my left foot inside it, am i?? lucky the ice cave looks good and I got many great pictures... but yeah, you guys can get a better tour guide :)

WOW!! You NEED to do this.

Due to the time of year we came (December) there are very few hours of daylight - nothing to do with the tour operator obviously but it was a little disappointing that some of the stops were so dark when we got there.

The tour guide is very amiable and funny. But I am very sorry, I still can't remember your name. He is very patient, responsible and the restaurant he introduced is very good.He will remind you of the small details that you should pay attention to during your trip, and will send you to your doorstep after the trip. Great way to see the south coast

Our guide Andrea, was well-informed and supplied is with detailed information about the geology and history of the area we traveled through. He had a good sense of humor, patience, and a wealth of knowledge about Iceland. Our small group of 12 was a perfect size so that there was never a ridiculous amount of time spent transitioning from one activity to the next. The tour schedule kept us moving so that we visited quite a few sites and never had an uncomfortably long stretch of driving. Our lodging overnight near Vik was split between a hostel and Hotel Anna. My husband and I stayed at the hotel, which was cozy and charming, and has an excellent, though expensive, restaurant for dinner and a bounteous breakfast buffet which was included. On day 2, the diamond beach and ice lagoon were surreally beautiful. The crazy roller coaster ride to and on top of the glacier to see the ice caves was great- definitely worth it to experience such a remote geography. Two thumbs up for our tour!

great experience

Our tour guide was David. He is so informative, dynamic, lively, and so friendly to all of us. He made our trip memorable. The tour was great and the itinerary was complete for us. David knows what we need and what we want as a tourist. He put a lot of effort to meet our needs such as search northern light for us and drop us to a famous hot dog stall in Reykjavik even it is not included in our itinerary. It was so amazing and pleasant journey with him. He drove the bus so well and so smooth, and being so kind and helpful throughout the day. The ice cave a bit disappointed because it was not the cave that you saw on this site. The cave is just grey and has a lot of snow in it. The blue part just a little bit and not so impressive as seen on the picture. I was great experience, but just the cave that disappoint us. Thank you david for taking us around iceland. You are our great tour guide

Amazing Iceland!

More than one week ago we were looking forward to discover Iceland on this tour. And we were not disappointed! The first day standing in the cold water behind a waterfall, feeling the strengh of the water and listening to the waves of the beautiful black beach highlighted on the glaciers on the second day... what an awesome, beautiful, amazing and interesting place on earth! Our tourguide David has contributed a great deal to make this tour to a highlight of our Iceland holidays! His enthusiasm for this nature was great and contagious! And as if it had not been enough already, at least we had the opportunity to see the northern lights dancing above us shortly before arriving home in Reykjavik. David managed to find a hole in the thick clouds. Thanks David! :) It was absolutly an awesome trip! Dagmar & Edith

Terrific tour, great guide, humbling hospitality

Going as a group of six, we had a tremendous time on this trip, seeing some absolutely stunning landscapes , learning about some fascinating stories regarding Iceland and its history, and striking up a strong bond with our tour guide and driver, Michal. He was the consummate professional in his knowledge, attentiveness, consideration, and experience, even going so far as to take us to some hidden nooks and crannies on the tour to ensure that our tour was as personalised and unique from the other tours available. His amiable nature, and welcoming attitude made us all feel relaxed, happy, and satisfied. Above all, on the second night, disaster struck and we could not return to Reykjavik due to a strong storm. Nice Travel were top-class in having a Plan B ready for us, and Michal was most warm in checking-in on us individually to ensure we were comfortable with the plans, as well as helping to reschedule everybody else's plans for the next days. Therefore, whilst you can probably find cheaper tours elsewhere, this tour is worth every penny, providing you with great value for mone. You get a personalised experience in a small tour group, have the flexibility to spend a bit longer in some areas, and even have the opportunity to see some secret sights. Oh, and if you have Michal as your tour guide, you're in for a treat - such a lovely bloke! :)

Nice Travel basically saved our trip to Iceland. We got stock in a very bad weather and we couldn't drive. We book with Nice Travel 2 day trip to JOKULSARLON and other attractions. The person I spoked with on the phone was very informative and answered every question I had and even managed to book us for the next day and pick us up from road number 1 and not from Reykjavik. Out tour guide was Ross. He was very friendly and professional with various knowledge about Iceland. Every stop we made he explained about the place and gave us useful informations and some "fun facts" about it. During our trip he managed to show us some "Secret" places around the road(the secret cave with the waterfall was amazing!). On the way back we even saw the aurora borealis :) Thanks for the most wonderful trip!

We had a great 2 day tour with Vilte! So much amazing nature to see, and with every stop he made sure we had enough time. He also took us to several extra places that were not in the original itinerary, but some were the highlights of the trip! After doing the Golden Circle tour right after this one, we were so grateful to have done this Southern tour as the sites were really quite unforgettable. This tour really made our Iceland experience amazing!

The tour is great, saw lot of waterfalls and glaciers but never felt too much. Our tour guide Valti was very nice. The hostel is great, not very clouded, the rooms are clean. Breakfast is great too. I would recommend this tour.

Our second day was sunny and we went to skaftfell to see the sunrise. It was really unforgettable. Our tour guide is Luise, a reaaaally funny Italian girl. She told us many interesting story about Iceland. Our driver is David, also reaaaally funny and nice. I will come back Iceland in a summer! Wait for me lol!

we tried the 2days ice cave tour and it was really well organised enough to see the breathtaking nature of the iceland. Most of all, i'm sincerely moved with our tour guide (Mike)'s kindness and consideration. He is not the one who explains and talks all the time during the travel but he is the one who cares every single members of our tour. There was a girl who went travel alone, Mike always tried to talk to her and made her feel not alone :) He told me that he doesn't regret chaning his job as tour guide and i certainly can say that he made a right choice :) thank you Mike!! you made our travel!! P.S i will use this company next time if i visited Iceland next year!!

This tour was by far the best part of my trip to Iceland. Our guides were fantastic! They knew all kinds of interesting facts about what we were seeing and Iceland in general. They took us to some secret spots in addition to the main tourist attractions. I loved that this was a small group tour. Our driver, David, could take us places the big tour buses could not go. This tour combines so many wonderful things all in one. I can't speak highly enough of this tour, our guides and the company in general.

The tour was excellent! We did the 2 day, 1 night tour from Reyjkavik to Jokulsarlon glacier. The trip far exceeded our expectations. The natural beauty of the area was breathtaking. I am so thankful that we took the time to go out to the glacier and see diamond beach, ice caves, and icebergs. Our tour guide David was EXCELLENT! He really went above and beyond for everyone in our tour group and really made the tour extraordinary. We stopped on the way back to the city to see the northern lights. Although we'd already seen them, many in our group REALLY wanted to see them and we saw a spectacular light show. I am so glad we stopped. David then took anyone who wanted a hot dog into the city and stopped at the infamous hot dog stand that Bill Clinton visited as well. It was already late, the tour was over, and he had a family to go home to but he truly wanted us to have a great and full trip, so he made all of us visitors saw/ate everything they wanted.

Great value, outstanding experience!

I was on the fence about booking an excursion because I usually prefer to explore on my own. But in Nov, with limited daylight and unpredictable weather conditions, this two-day excursion will ensure that you experience the absolute best from this gorgeous region. Our guide Johannes was helpful, warm, and knowlegable from beginning to end. Our group really bonded, and that can be attributed to the small group size, the comfortable riding conditions, and Johannes's boundless positive energy. I highly recommend this option for solo travelers. It's a great way to meet people while still having your own space. Based on this experience and another excursion I took to Sneafellnes, I sense that Nice is a company with a genuine love of Iceland, a commitment to sharing that enthusiasm with others, and a knack for satisfying the restless, poetic souls of fellow travelers.

Had a wonderful tour with nicetravel. Our guide was knowleadge and explained to us a lot about Iceland and the culture. We had an awesome trip for the two days with the tour group. The accommodation despite being a hostel is well kept and very clean. Ice caving experience was very good. Nicetravel has been really accommodating with my requests and answers all my quiries promptly. They even helped out to suggest my proposal plan and the proposal went well as per planned in blue ice cave. The tour guide helped out to capture all the moments with his DSLR. In future when I visit Iceland again, will surely book again the tour group

I strongly recommend that for multi-day tours in the winter season, you should book with professional tour operators instead of driving yourself. I cannot say enough good things about our tour guide / driver, David. He was very energetic, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable, and made sure we got the most out of our trip. On our first day we visited 4 waterfalls (including one secret one that required a short hike), lunch at the restaurant by Skogafoss waterfall, Eyjafallajokul volcano, rest-stop at Vik, a cliff view, and Reynisfjara black sand beach. We were given enough time to visit each location and David helped us stay on time to see all the important sites. We stayed at Hotel Gierland, which is one of the main reasons we chose this tour over the slightly cheaper one. The hotel provides private bathrooms, and has a fully stocked bar in their restaurant. That night we had the trifecta of 3 factors - a new moon, clear skies, and geomagnetic activity level 4 (of 10), so we were able to view a very good Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) show at around 11pm. Hotel Gierland is a great spot to view the lights. The next day David was informed by his HQ that there was a winter storm headed to Jokulsarlon, so he hustled us to get there in time for the Ice Cave tour, and quick stops for Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach, before we made our escape. FYI we went in mid-November, and the Ice Cave was opened up to 30 meters or so. To go deeper into the cave, visit later in the winter when more of the waters inside have gone down. We escaped Jokulsarlon before the blizzard got worse, and on the way to Vik we experienced very strong winds of 20-25 m/s. I doubt I could have driven a rental car safely in those winds, but David handled the mini-bus like a pro. After our second stop at the Vik rest-stop, the storm had caught up to us and we were in white-out blizzard conditions with winds over 100mph. We saw several cars that had crashed off to the side of the road and had to be rescued. At one point we had to stop in an emergency road-side parking lot with other cars and rescue vehicles, as conditions were impossible to drive and there was a real danger of the mini-bus tipping over due to wind. There was a risk we would have to spend the night in the minibus until the storm passed, but David kept track of weather updates and found an opportune time to make a break for it after about 2 hours. We made it safely back to our Reykjavik hotels around 10pm. I highly doubt I could have seen all the sights and made it back safely if I had driven a rental car, and would likely have crashed the car or missed my flight the next day. David had experience driving tours in these conditions before, and kept us safe, on-time, entertained, and at-ease the whole time.

David is a passionate and knowledgeable tour guide who planned the journey very well so we could make good use of the sunlight and spend enough time in every spots. He explained the natural phenomenon in details and booked a decent restaurant for us to have lunch together. The hotel is clean and cozy with nice breakfast provided. I advised everyone should finish watching Game of Thrones before joining this trip as David will try to tell you some spoilers when we visited some place where GOT was filmed (although he didn't do so at last :D) If you want to have a pleasant and fun tour in Iceland, David will be your best companion and tour guide!!

Had an amazing experience! The landscape and sights of Iceland is amazing! Would definitely recommend this tour. Our guide Thomas was patient and pretty humorous which made for a rather entertaining trip. He also brought us on an adventure to a secret waterfall which was well worth the trip. We thoroughly enjoyed the ice cave experience and the glacier lagoon. They were so breathtaking! Accommodation was cozy and clean. The two pitstops for lunch were also pretty good. One of which had an amazing backdrop of a waterfall. Would definitely want to visit again!

We saw the most spectacular scenes during this 2 days tour. Our guide David is very very gentle and knowledgeable person. He makes sure we were on schedule. Our van had 13 ladies, sometimes we took lots of pictures and running out of time. David was always very kindly pushing us and patient. During the evening we stayed in hostel, very clean and cozy. According to the report we would be able to see the northern light. So our guide David was waiting outside to check and informs us. We were very lucky to capture the northern light. The second night on our way home, there was a huge northern light explosion. So we stopped and take pictures for an additional 30 minutes at least.

He showed perfect calmness and patience when my husband found he carelessly lost a bag, and helped us all the way around finding it back, can't thak enough for this.

Amazing Experience!! Fantastic Guide!!

This tour, with this company, is a must! Last summer I had done the South Coast tour and had seen the Glacier Lagoon before with another company. The only thing I wanted to see was the Blue Ice Cave, so I debated on whether or not I should do it. I am so glad I decided to go. Lucia was our tour guide and David was our driver. Both were very approachable, nice, professional, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. Their main goal was to provide a positive experience and make sure you got your money's worth. Literally everyone, including myself, kept saying throughout the 2 days ... “This tour is sooo great!†Or, “I'm so happy!" Since our group was small we were able to see a great deal. And to see the sights during the winter brought on a whole new dimension to the tour, especially the Northern Lights. All in all it was a fantastic, memorable experience! I will definitely use this company again.

Great tour! Day 1 has the first few stops hitting a high amount of foot traffic with other tour groups visiting the same spots, but the secret waterfall stop made up for that in spades, great little find!!! The nights stay at the NiceHostel was great, cosy little place with complimentary soup and breakfast (although, a small negative here is that it's in Seljaland, the opposite direction to the next day's activities at Vantajokull, which means a lot of travel time on the next day). There were areas close by that night without cloud cover, but we weren't offered a northern lights hunt, possibly due to other factors. Day 2 kicked off with some fantastic weather, and made for some AMAZING vistas of the glaciers, lagoon and diamond beach. We were extremely lucky to have the ice caves open, though could only go in about 10m due to the high water. Spectacular nonetheless. The super-van driver was very entertaining, taking us on a spin ON the glacier in the van. All in all, our tour driver and guide were fantastically knowledgable and enthusiastic, making the most of the tour despite the weather conditions, and the tour was kept on schedule throughout the duration. Waterproof attire is a MUST to enjoy yourself, top and bottom. We saw many absolutely miserable people soaked to the bone wearing jeans and sneakers and similar inappropriate gear. Five Star experience.

This was a fantastic tour!! I'm so glad we went with this tour company over one that packs a bus with 40+ people. We had a small group of 11 people that allowed for a more relaxed schedule and personal attention from the guide. Speaking of - our guide, Lou, was absolutely incredible. She was knowledgeable, funny, friendly, accommodating, and extremely helpful. It turns out that I'm not the person you want next to you when hiking on ice, and Lou literally held my hand and helped me through it. We also got to see some spots that aren't shown on most other tours. Our driver, David, was also great. The hostel was very nice as well. I was expected shared bathrooms, but we had our own bathroom and shower. Our window offered a great view of the light show as well. We were fortunate enough to see a great display of dancing, colorful lights. We were also able to go into the ice cave, which apparently was not the case for others groups last months. I cannot recommend this tour enough. Book it - you won't regret it!

This tour was fantastic. We unfortunately had quite a bit of rain but it was still amazing - just make sure you bring a rain jacket, not just a snow jacket like we did! The waterfalls were spectacular and this tour took you to otherwise inaccessible ones. The glacier is truly stunning as is the lagoon. We travelled in a small intimate group of 13 people. Highly recommended tour. Davio our tour guide is the best. He takes us to privately places where only our group is there. We have enough time to shoot photos, explore the areas and appreciate the beauty of the place. I didnt expect this tour to be this crazy adventurous which is worth taking. Davio is a pretty skilled driver, we feel safe and comfortable during the whole time. I have a fantastic time! The difficult part about booking this trip, is that everything is weather dependent and therefore, out of the control of the tour company. In terms of what lies within their control, everything was great. The pick-up was on time, the tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and the team was pretty good about getting the group to stay on schedule. In terms of my trip, I was really delighted to have Ulfur as a guide. I was a solo traveler and probably asked him too many questions, but he entertained them and shared a lot of interesting information about the sights and Icelandic history/culture/current shifts, etc. I was most eager to see the blue ice cave, which we were fortunately able to do. I think they were flooded for some days prior and had just opened up, so we were quite lucky. It was beautiful, but even though this was my main motivation for booking this tour, it did not end up being the highlight. For me, the best part was actually a stop at a glacier (not glacier lagoon) for sunrise on the second day. There were no other tour companies and the view was absolutely stunning. I had a moment where I just felt complete and wanted to stay there forever. Being able to experience that made the entire trip worth it. (And I was a little bummed about all the rain the day before, so this was a great stroke of luck.) Overall, I would absolutely book with this tour company again. I had such a great experience and every time I reminisce about the few days I had in Iceland, I enter back into this dream-like place. I undoubtedly will be back to explore some more in the future. See you then!

Spending my birthday on this tour with amazing guide Antonio was the best decision! He showed us hidden places that are surely less crowded or not touristic at all. He did go extra to satisfy us and tried to make our day special in Iceland. we couldn't try ice caving because of constant rain couple of days before our tour, but we were able to walk on the glaciers and go inside of the black cave. We stayed in hotel Geirland. Its pretty small but feel so cozy with beautiful scenery. Overall I do recommend you to go for this tour especially with guide Antonio!

first, Arnar and Einor, our tour captains are very caring and friendly icelandic people. We were shown to the 5 waterfalls, 2 beaches, ice lagoon, ice cave, glaicer and many coffee stops. We were driven through the beautiful coastline smoothly in rain, gust, snow, ice, dust storm, and sunshine in a day. I would enjoy the walk better if I have packed waterproof boot up to ankle, raincoat, small plastic bag to waterproof my camera and ice grippers. But I get on without them. My friend had good fun, but just wish for more time in blue ice cave because it is beautiful, but I think it is out of control by our captains as another ice cave guide control the time. overall, it is very satisfying.

Amazing. Our tour guides Antonio and Michael did a great job of getting us safely to all our destination. I really debated renting a car or taking a tour, but in the end seeing the way the weather was I am glad to have Michael driving and I am sure I would not have seen many of the waterfalls and glaciers on my own. Antonio passion and knowledge of the area clearly came through during our many stops. We saw 4 waterfalls the first day. 2 famous ones and 2 that are hidden and you have to hike a little bit for. Then we stayed in a very comfortable and clean guest house. The staff there were also excellent. They serve soup and bread complimentary, but pizza is available for purchase. Breakfast is also complimentary. The next day it had snowed heavily, again very glad I had a experienced driver. We went to the glacier and Crystal Cave. Stunningly beautiful. Antonio explained the local volcano and the history of eruptions last on grounded planes traffic because of the ash and gas plume. We stopped and saw the frozen lake where Game of thrones shot the Wilding fort when the White walkers attacked and John Snow narrowly escaped. (it was January at the time of my visit). The sun had come out by this time and we went to the Black Beach. Watch out for those waves, but beautiful to see. There is a giant Balsam columns cave there. Then on to the glacier lagoon and diamondhead beach. Shockly beautiful. An experienced you will never forget. This is the highlight of my entire trip to Iceland and not to be missed. We stopped for lunch, the one last upclose look at the glacier and short hike. Then we returned to Reykjavik. I can't Thank Nicetravels, Antonio and Michael enough for a wonderful 2 days.
