This tour will take you to one of the most beautiful and most visited regions in Iceland. During the two days you will drive along the famous South Coast to admire the beauty of Icelandic nature.

On your first day we will take you to the most known waterfalls in the South, Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss. These picture-perfect waterfalls are on the bucket list of almost all travellers visiting Iceland. To add even more to this experience on our tour you will also have an opportunity to see two less known but equally beautiful waterfalls – Irafoss and Gljufrabui. Exploring South Coast of Iceland would not be complete without a visit at the Black Beach of Reynisfjara. Just take your time on the beach to admire basalt columns and lava formations rising above the sea level and make sure to have your camera ready to take memorable pictures there!

At the end of the day we will take you to your accommodation. You can select the standard of accommodation during booking process, choosing between hotel, guesthouse or hostel/dormitory standard - you can find more information about the available selection under Good to Know section. Just relax on our premises searching the sky for the Northern Lights which are known to dance on the sky in the area (if weather conditions are favorable).

For second day we will drive further East to reach the famous Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. On our way we stop at Eldhraun lava fields (formed by the largest known lava flow in the world) and at Skaftafell National Park. But the unique beauty awaits you just below the biggest glacier in Europe – Vatnajokull. There you will find the Diamond Beach – a black beach scattered with shattered ice bergs. Here is the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon, where huge icebergs float in ice cold water and seals swim around them and nearby the natural Blue Ice Caves – formed by melting glacial waters trying to make their way to the ocean.

If you want to enjoy the Icelandic nature to the fullest and to witness one of Iceland's most incredible natural phenomenon, then you should book this tour now as availability is very limited.

Please note: it is only possible to bring small carry-on luggage such as backpacks for the tour. See further details under Good To Know section

  • Jökulsárlón
  • Vatnajökull
  • Skógafoss
  • Black Sand Beach – Reynisfjara

  • Svínafellsjökull

  • South Coast

Day 1 – South Coast, four Waterfalls and Black Beach of Reynisfjara

After a complimentary pick up service within Reykjavik you will kick off East on an unforgettable adventure along the route #1, passing though small towns and the Icelandic countryside. After around 2 hours of driving you will notice a waterfall falling from the high cliffs – this is Seljalandsfoss. It has a 60 meters (200ft) high drop of water, is located underneath Eyjafjallajokull glacier-volcano and is among the most photographed waterfalls in Iceland. Once there remember to follow our guide on the path to secret waterfall – Gljubrabui. This smaller waterfall located in a cave is really worth seeing.

Next on the itinerary is Skogafoss – a classic waterfall that looks like taken straight from a childs drawing. The single cascade of water is a show of true, raw power of nature that must be seen to be believed. You will then have the additional pleasure of visiting another less known waterfall of Irafoss.

Then it is on to Reynisfjara, a black sand beach nestling under Mt. Reynisfjall. Black basalt has been shaped into amazing different formations, most notably the famous Reynisdrangar. Beware the might of the Atlantic Ocean which looms with its powerful waves while admiring lava formations located close to the shore.

At the end of the day we will take you to your accommodation. Remember to keep your head up for the Northern Lights. Our guide will inform you about the possibilities to see them.

Day 2 - Glacier lagoon and the incredible Blue Ice cave

After a good night´s rest and a delicious breakfast, prepare yourself for the second day of your adventure. After a drive through the lovely village of Vik, we will stop at the Eldhraun Lava Fields. The eruption of Laki Volcano in 1700´s caused the biggest lava flow known in history. You will be amazed by the raw scenery formed by this event. Then you stop at the Skaftafell National Park where the spectacular views will take your breath away!

You then continue to the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. This famous lagoon is filled with huge chunks of ice that have cracked off Breiðamerkurjökull glacier (part of Vatnajokull) and float slowly out to sea. Just remember to keep your head up to spot the seals often seen swimming around or resting on the shore. Some icebergs wash up on the shore, lying on the vivid black sand like diamonds on satin and from there, your Ice cave adventure will begin.

The Natural Blue Ice Caves are forming mostly during winter, when the glacier water freezes and makes it safe to go inside them. Each season glacier guides explore and discover newly formed caves and carefully select the ones that will be visited. In order to reach the ice cave, we will take you on the Super Jeep ride. Once close to the cave you will be instructed on how to safely walk on ice and how-to put-on crampons. All safety gear is provided but please remember that good hiking boots are essential (you can rent them out as an extra). After a safety introduction, you can enjoy amazing Blue ice cave from the inside for about an hour – a view that you will most likely never forget.

After this unforgettable adventure, you drive back to the Jokulsarlon where you join the bus again to head back to Reykjavik. On the way back, you will of course be able to enjoy the beautiful nature of the South Coast and to make a quick stop in Vik village for some refreshments, while keeping an eye out for the Northern lights if conditions are right.

He drove, guided and shared lots of Icelandic information/ history as well as fun facts to us. The hotel included in the tour was also nice with breakfast provided. Remember to wear waterproof shoes during the trip. We had rented the waterproof shoes during the tour booking.

Perfect tour with Benni

We absolutely loved this tour. Benni was a wonderful informative (and funny) guide, and we couldn’t stop saying “WOW!” The Diamond Beach at sunrise was magical, and so were the ice caves. Definitely recommend this tour.

The driver is so nice. My mother fell on the ice and the driver immediately contacted the nearest hospital to take us there. He was very careful to remind us of our safety when we went to the seaside. The trip was so beautiful that it was well worth it. But here's a tip: sometimes turn the music down so everyone can rest I highly recommend you to take part in this project.

Birgir is an excellent guide and driver, he made this trip a fantastic experience. His passion about life and travels and knowledge about Iceland provided us a wonderful journey experience. He deserves a 5-star rating.

Cannot say enough good things about this tour and company. The pickup was nice since we did not have to change buses. The bus was comfortable and hade chargers, WiFi and space. The guide, Valdi (?sp) was patient and accommodating. He was knowledgeable, really gave us extra when he could.. As or the coast? Well, just go!

The best tour I've ever been on

Well, there’s not nearly enough I could say to tell you what a great trip I had! I went on my birthday and had high expectations, but wow, our tour guide completely blew it out of the water! I’ve never had a tour guide who cares so much about me, my friend, or my special day. He even went as far as to buy me a treat for my birthday! not only that, he was extremely well educated on all of the places we visited. And very funny too! I truly wish I could spell his name so I could tell you who it was, but I have no doubt that all tour guides on nice travel are the absolute best of the best! When I come back to Iceland, I will definitely be booking with them again!!

Different kind of tour

Nice Travel provided us with a small tour van with wifi, charger and comfy seats that are not crampy. The 2 days ice Cave and glaciers cum waterfalls and black sand beach are pretty amazing and the guide (mark) is informative and willing. Along the way we had to experienced punctured tyres and he can fix it ! good to know that he has skills that is handy. Events are packed and the bonus is the northern lights sighting on the way back to city centre. Well worth the journey to all places of interests! Well done Nice Travel !

Awesome Trip

Our 2 day tour was awesome! Our tour guide David was amazing. He did a great job at safely driving through the crazy Iceland winter roads and made efforts to stop at his "why not" stops to give us extra photo opportunities. The hotel accommodation was clean and welcoming. We truly enjoyed the tour and would book again with Nice Travel!

Great guide, great sights, relaxed atmosphere. Safety and enjoyment a priority. I would definitely recommend NiceTravel.

Absolutely worth it!

This 2-day excursion is a lot of time on the road due to the distance from Reykjavik to the overnight hotel & back again. However, the sites were absolutely amazing. Our driver was super friendly and very knowledgeable about both the history of the Iceland and each of the natural sites we visited. The Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon was incredible. We had a completely clear, sunny day and could see all the way to the ocean, back to the tops of the mountains. The way the sunlight illuminated the ice cave interiors was absolutely stunning. This part of Iceland is some of the most beautiful & dramatic landscape I've ever seen.

Comfortable bus for long journey seeing the scenery change, stunning sights and our guide gave us lots of information about Iceland. Overnight stay was great as well.

fabulous experience

Although there was a little misunderstanding before the our, Nicetravel team solved the problem well and made our tour realised. We really enjoy the view at the south coast. And we do appreciate our guide, Peter. Thanks for this fabulour experience.

Excellent Tour

The South Coast tour was perfect. The van had window defoggers so you could always see, unlike another tour we took where the windows were always fogged up. Our guide, Sven, was probably the best tour guide I have seen anywhere. On top of being very knowledgeable he was also very funny and managed the time on the tour very well so that we got to see everything that was promised despite some very challenging weather. The ice caves were a very fun experience and the other sights on this tour were all very beautiful. On the second morning we watched the most beautiful and spectacular sunrise we have ever seen. For two hours there very high clouds which showed every color of the rainbow. Even Sven was impressed, stopping the van to take pictures for himself. The whole ride in both directions had much beautiful scenery with snow covered mountains and fields, Icelandic horses, and even a herd of reindeer. This was our best tour in Iceland.

2 Day south coast tour

Our tour guide made us all feel welcome and was very accommodating, we even managed to fit in some extra stops along the way. Our accomodation for the night was good with our hotel looking straight out onto the harbour, fantastic view. Unfortunately a change in the weather forecast meant we had to forego the ice caves and race back to Reykjavík ahead of a bad gale. Hence only a three star rating but no complaints about what we did see and do. Just be aware that there is a lot of driving involved but there is a lot to see. Don't worry about the fact you retrace your route because you see things differently coming back. It is a good idea to have some floating days built into your itinerary to allow you to shuffle your tours around when the weather cancels some activities..

Worth it

Disappointed not to see the northern lights but felt lucky that our tour wasn’t cancelled given the snow and wind. Our driver/guide was friendly, informative, great driver under trying conditions and always concerned for our safety. Ice cave team also enthusiastic and helpful.

Great experience ... tough weather

The tour is set up so you may have a good feeling of the area. Unfortunately the weather in early January proved the harshness of Iceland. We had a lot of rain and wind. In these conditions Diamond Beach or Glacier Lagoon, are difficult to enjoy 100%. The brief moments the weather let out, we saw the beauty of Iceland, and the our guide did attempt to make up for it by giving us great information and insight. So all things considered it was a good life experience. On the bad side, and without considering the weather's impact, the ice caves were very disappointing, and the guide (from another company I believe) denial of climate change's impact on it was incredible -even if he did admit that a few years ago the glacier was a lot bigger.

Our tour was almost cancelled due to extreme weather conditions however we ended up going and are very thankful we did! Our tour guide was really nice and even stopped in order for us to take pictures of nice views when we asked him too. The tour itself was amazing, this is an experience unlike any other. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the south coast!

I travelled with my friend to Iceland for a week, and this tour has been our favorite one among all operators. My tour guide David from Nice Travel is very professional. Amazing Ice Caves

Great 2-day tour. The ice caves were amazing! Diamond beach was gorgeous. Our driver David was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and a safe driver. We had lots of fun.

Day 1-good, Day 2-amazing!

Visiting the waterfalls and the beach on day 1 was nice. Cramp-ons would have been helpful when touring the waterfalls as all of the paths were covered with ice. Day 2 was the best part of our entire stay in Iceland. Watching the seals swim from Diamond Beach and the awe-inspiring views/surroundings at Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon started the day off beautifully. The grand finale, summiting the glacier and exploring the ice caves was incredible-one of the most beautiful things we've ever seen!

Enjoyable tour

Thanks for the guide. We enjoyed really beautiful sightseeing.

Decent experience

This was a decent tour - unforunately the weather in December wasn't great and due to the wind, we had to change the tour a bit. I wish this had been conveyed to us properly but we were really kept in the dark and did not get to visit the Diamond Beach or Glacier Lagoon, which was disappointing. However, the guide did attempt to make up for it by giving us an extra stop at the plane wreck. So I think more transparency would have been nice, but all things considered it wasn't bad. The ice caves were cool and worth the visit, even if they were underwhelming compared to pictures online. You get a cool experience walking on a glacier with crampons on.

2 days south coast tour

Our tour guide, Mica, was very friendly, knowledgeable, and safe driver! We really enjoyed the tour with him! We had great experience despite a very limited daylight. The schedule was well constructed to be able to enjoy popular landscapes in the southern Iceland. Falls, lava structures, Glacier, and diamond beach!! …, while we hardly remember their Icelandic name, every place, every moments were impressing for us.

Our guide Olaf was very nice and informative. The hotel was very nice and the visited places are amazing.

Good if weather on your side!

Our Tour Guide was Anahr (not sure if that's the correct spelling!) but he was very helpful and did his best to get the most out of our tour for us despite the poor weather on the first day (heavy rain and poor visibility!) The second day at Jokulsarlon etc when the weather was clear was absolutely breathtaking though! The guest house where you stay overnight is also very clean and comfortable with good (reasonably priced) food options for dinner. The transport vehicles are also top class, with free wifi on board and USB charging points for each seat location which are very useful. Only area for improvemnt would be that the windows are heavily tinted (obvioulsy for use during the summer months), however this isnt much use when it's dark and the weather / visibility is poor as it was for us on the first day - perhaps the window tinting should be a seasonal addition!

2 Day South Coast Tour, Ice Caves

The tour was great, everything was perfectly timed to maximize the limited day light hours. The cave were very interesting, very cool. All the waterfalls at this time were freezing over, which added extra beauty. Layers and good boots were key. Diamond Beach was amazing, not everyday you get to take pictures of broken glaziers and icebergs. I would gladly do this trip again, maybe in the summer months to see some more color.

This 2 days tour was fantastic! I really loved the nature, black sand beaches, waterfulls, just wow.And I want to say a big thank you to our guide and driver Michael,he was incredibly kind an professional all the time, and he loves his job.My favourite spot was the beautiful Diamond beach, the only (little)disappointment was the ice cave, honestly I was expecting them to be much more impressive. But anyway, I would a 100% go again on this tour if I have the chance!

Ice Cave tour

Mickael is a very good guide, always kind, very informative and helpful. He is very knowledgeable about Iceland and was full of good advice with a good sense of humor. The tour itself exceeded our expectations.

By Neil Sharp

not bad

The ice caving is totally weather-dependas the, that is to say, if the weather is cloudy and dark, then what you see will be “black ice caving” instead of blue caving, besides there are so many tourists crowding in the cave, you could barely move smoothly, let alone take some decent photos. But on the whole, the trip was great, the guide took us to some little waterfalls that people seldom visit, I really appreciated that. So, my point is the trip is worth signing up but don’t hold your breath about the ice caving too much

Best tour and guide I ever had!

I had this two-day tour with Christina over Christmas. Her positive attitude, her broad knowledge about the island and the culture make a trip with her really worthwhile. Especially her cheerful way of motivating the group and telling information with nice stories makes her a true islandic heart. She loves the island and you can feel that with every action she does. About the tour we were really lucky with the weather, because in winter it is not always clear in southern Iceland, but we got a Christmas present with not so much rain and on the second day even the sun came out for the glacier, ice caves and the road trip back to Reykjavík. The most beautiful landscape you can wish for. Will definitely recommend everyone to do something with them when they visit the island for their 1st time. Thanks a lot, Christina :) Tommy from Germany

He always clearly updated the upcoming plans and did his best to help us enjoy the trip (the wind was so strong during our trip and some roads were closed). He is very experienced and managed the schedule with flexibility. He also prepared music that is very suitable for long drives, which once again, shows how considerate he is.

2 days trip to the south coast with the amazing tour guide "David"

“Let‘s focus on the mission” is what I call David’s slogan for the two days trip. David is a nice, helpful, informative and happy guy. He was passionate about Iceland and his knowledge about Iceland is incredible, he knew all about Iceland and beyond what could have been expected. He was always courteous to all passengers and an extremely safe driver. We saw such an epic landscape with the waterfalls, mountains, volcanos and the black sand beach on the first day. It gets even better on the second day we went to the diamond beach and the blue ice caves tour was overwhelming and its stunning! What a Wonder of Nature!! He was so genuinely excited about showing us the wonderful sights that it was contagious, and got us really excited about them too. He kept us informed about everything that would happen along the way and was very organized and professional. David also loves to take photos so he knew the best place and view to take good photos If you get lucky enough to have David as your driver/guide you'll have the experience of a lifetime. Don't come to Iceland unless you have HIM as your guide! I would recommend Nice tours as long as they continue to have people like David working for them. Thank you David for the great Iceland experience and told me so much about the wonderful country! David, thank you again for everything!

Beautiful, Excellent but could be better 2 day South Coast Trip

Excellent trip given that it is a long drive from Rekyavik to Hofn and return in 2 days including the site seeing given very limited day light during the winter months. The bus, driver and all arrangements were really good and the only reason I am giving 4 stars is because I felt we only got 20 mins at every site except blue ice caves and 20 mins is very less time to walk from parking lot to the site and then come back. We could not get to the top of the waterfall or behind the waterfall due to limited time. I think either the itenary should be amended to 2-1/2-3 days so we get enough time at each site or have the overnight stay at Vik and leave early morning to reach the Glacier site set for day 2. Overall still a great trip and highly recommend for tourist with limited time and for those who are not keen to spend too much time at each site due to cold weather.

Of coarse the ice cave the highlight of this trip and worth every $ The guide on the large Jeep was super awesome (the one that dated the mountains Got lil sister) sorry forgot his name was very enthusiastic and honest, entertaining and made the drive to glacier unforgettable as well as the hike, we got to see extra ice cave that was newly discovered. The rooms overnight were great, the lamb soup is a must try. Plenty of stop for toilets and snacks. Stock up in snacks. Overall highly recommended Would do again !!

Amazing trip with a wonderful guide

Wow! What a great 2 day tour ! That was amazing, not only because we had a nice weather, but as well thanks to Michael who shares with us his passion about this wonderful country. We visited so many spots as planned and extra ones which were marvelous. The blue icecave is truly worth it. Easy to play with the blue colours thanks to your camera. Great tour with Roman!

My husband and I took the 2 day South Coast tour with Nicetravel and had a great time! Roman was our tour guide and he really went above and beyond to give us a great experience. We visited all of the sites advertised as well as a few amazing hidden gems that weren't even listed in the tour description. Throughout the drive, Roman shared pieces of the history of Iceland with us and provided detailed information on the sights we were about to see. His enthusiasm for Iceland's sights and history made the drives between the sights pass quickly. The tour was also very well organized with enough time given at all the sights. At the beginning of each day we were given an overview of what our day ahead would look like and then also given information along the way about how long it would be until our next stop. We consistently felt like we were with a trustworthy guide and company. We left with amazing memories and highly recommend this 2 day tour with Nicetravel and Roman as a guide!

Great trip with a great company

We had a great time on this trip! The whole tour felt nice and relaxed - not rushed at all. We usually take a private tour as we prefer not to travel with groups but this trip was such better value as a small group - we saved two thirds of the cost and we really enjoyed it! Our guide (marrick) was brilliant and gave us just the right amount of time and information at each stop and took photos of us. There were plenty of stops between the long drives so it didn't get uncomfortable. The hotel we stayed in was lovely and we couldn't fault it. The glacier lagoon and the ice cave were of course the highlights of our tour. Would definitely travel with this company again.

Our 2day trip to South was outstanding!! Each and every detail was well planned. Our tour guide Mr Roman was excellent! He was very friendly, easy going , highly knowledgeable and made sure all the tourists were comfortable and that we all had the best time. He stopped at some I undesignated places as well and made our trip more memorable.! The tour by itself is very well designed with the right amount of points of interest and rest. The Nice travels hostel was also neat, cozy, and comfortable. The host and hostess were excellent. We highly recommend this tour to everyone visiting Iceland as it takes off the pressure to drive and is completely well planned. The glacier lagoon, Ice cave and Reynsfara &Diamond beaches were spectacular! We had an amazing time! Beautiful memories etched forever!! Thank you NiceTravel!!

Incredible trip - well worth the money

The 2 day trip to South Iceland was absolutely amazing. Our guide (really sorry I'm not sure how to spell his name but he gave us his "English name" of Ernie 😉) was incredible: so friendly, knowledgeable and always wanting to ensure we saw the best things. This 2 day trip was definitely the highlight of our 5 days in Iceland and worth every penny. The scenary we saw on this trip was out of this world and something we will never forget. Walking on the glacier and going into the Ice cave on the second day was incredibly beautiful and something I've never experienced before. Thank you to "Ernie" and Nice Travel for the best two days.

Valdi was an AMAZING guide who was very funny and kind. We stayed overnight at a hostel, which was an incredible experience. The food was excellent and the facilities were the nicest ones that we had throughout our whole stay in Iceland! Would highly recommend Valdi and Nice Travel!

Don't miss this trip!

We know Iceland quite well, and yet this was the most breathtaking trip we've had there! Nice Travel is in fact incredibly nice with an individual, warm approach! Not only did they pick us up from our doorstep, but also managed to organize vegan options for us for breakfast. Our guide (an Italian, I believe his name was Andreas - apologies if I'm wrong) was very informative, professional, caring. Despite having an incredibly hard job (our travel companions turned out to be a group who was very loud, never on time, and did not listen to anything, including putting on seatbelts + on our way back the weather made the driving conditions dangerous), he managed to stay on top of it all, be calm and friendly. When we go to Iceland again, this is certainly the tour company we will choose. Karolina & Ola from Poland

I had a wonderful time on this trip and could not fault a thing! The tour guide Giuseppe was super informative, friendly and accommodating! The benefits of this type of tour is definitely the ability to go to places a bit off the beaten track which you would not get with a large group and I would definitely recommend! There was also a reasonable amount of time at each stop so the tour did not feel rushed. If you only have time for one tour I would pick this over the golden circle!

We really really enjoyed this tour even we couldn't go to the Dimond beach and Blue ice cave because bad weather, but our tour guide Kristian found a second plan which we could go to different ice cave and, stopped by another waterfall and Lava museum on the way back to Reykjavik.
He was very kind and friendly, also very knowledgeable and never got bored whole journey.
The Nice hostel was very clean and lady was very friendly.

We spent 2 days in the south coast , we've visited the glacier Jokursarlon, the waterfalls, lava fiels and the amazing Ice Cave. I have to say the our guide, Valdi, was the best guide we could ever have: kind, funny and comprensive person. We spent the night in a really nice hostel, where the food was delicious and the staff really kind. In the first day we visited the waterfalls, lava fields and the black beach; in the second day the glacier lagoon, the Ice Cave and the diamond beach. Fantastic Iceland tour

Our tour guide, Skuli was excellent. He is very friendly, on time, and compassion. We stopped at a lot of beautiful places. The first day was the waterfalls day. Our tour guide took us to the private waterfalls, it is beautiful. Iceland is an amazing place even in the winter time. We spent a night at Hotel Anna. We had dinner there. You have to try the pork belly. It was fantastic. The best in their menu. The only thing that the disadvantage of this hotel is nobody there during the night, and there is the limit of hot water. The second day, we went to the black beach, the diamond beach, and ice cave. Our tour guide for ice cave is Ravnarr. He is unbelievable, funny and experience. Walking on the glacier and seeing ice cave is the one-lifetime experience. I have my daughters, aged 13 and 15 years old in this tour. It is so sad their children may not experience walking on the glacier due to global warming. On the way home, our tour guide, Skuli stopped the bus, and we saw the northern light. Although it is not intense, at least we experienced the northern light. Overall, this tour is a must. Travel in Iceland will not complete without this tour. For Skuli and Ravnarr ( I apologize if I spelled it wrong) thank you so much. Welldone :)

Need bigger bus

The bus is too cramp especially for winter season when everyone is wearing such thick jackets. It was also very stuffy and had poor ventilation. Overall the places we went to were very beautiful despite the very miserable weather on the first day. However we feel that it was a very rushed trip and we did not have enough time to fully enjoy the sights. Driver could have been more engaging.

Superb experience with friendly and helpful guide

My husband and I booked this 2 day tour as part of a longer week in Iceland and I am so glad we did as it was far and away the peak of our trip. We were very fortunate to have extraordinarily calm weather for the time of year - no rain and little to no wind in late November - so were able to enjoy the beautiful waterfalls, lava fields, mountains, volcanoes and glaciers to the fullest, clambering over and up rocks to reach certain areas - certainly more interactive than I expected (in a good way)! Obviously this is at the discretion of the guide based on the prevailing conditions. Speaking of, I have to give a special mention to our guide, Andrea. Not only was he very knowledgeable and informative, offering interesting little tidbits about the landscape, geology and history here and there en route, but he was also extraordinarily kind and accommodating towards my mobility-limited husband (whose mobility was seriously aided by some shoe spikes and an ice pick for his walking stick, it's worth noting, for those in the same boat). There were a few moments where my husband needed a little helping hand and while I was, of course, more than prepared to do this myself, Andrea went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that he was safe and comfortable without holding the others up. It wasn't his responsibility to do that and yet he was very caring whilst making sure that everyone else continued to be looked after properly and was having a good time. That really struck a chord for me. Not only that but he was very friendly and approachable in general. The accommodation in Vik was also really warm and homely, and the bus itself was far more comfortable than you expect from a long bus journey! The ice cave tour was, as you might imagine, spectacular, further enhanced by the wry humour of our fantastic glacier guide Ragnar. Honestly, this whole experience was absolutely worth the time and investment and I would wholeheartedly recommend both the tour operator and the experience to anyone.

South Coast 2-Day Tour

The weather was not good as expected. It had been raining and super windy in these two-day tour. Because of safety reason, eventually my most looking-forward activity - Ice Cave was cancelled. But I would say the tour guide, Nicola is very professional and caring all the time. She managed to drive for nearly 10-hour in the windy and rainy day. Iceland is really beautiful and a must place to visit in a lifetime!

Amazing Views, lackluster tour

The sights were breathtaking and will be remembered for a lifetime, so first and foremost, YES, try to see these sights during your trip to Iceland. We had really high hopes after reading reviews about funny and engaging tour guides for a well-rounded tour experience. Our tour guide was helpful and informative one-in-one but seemed reluctant to address the group, so we did not really learn anything about what we were seeing and it felt more like a shuttle than a tour. The bus was extremely cold and all of us aboard wore our hats gloves and mittens both days. We paid $300 extra for this tour bc of it's nicer accommodations than another 2 day tour but still stayed in a shared toilets, shared shower hostel but we did have have a private bedroom. The hostel had two single beds pushed together to make a double. The hostel had great food and ambiance.|h We didn't receive the boots we paid for and had very limited time to see the waterfalls. I understand the necessity of capturing daylight, but we spent far longer at the restaurant than was needed and did not have enough time at Skogafoss so it was like we had to run to snap a picture and run back. In summary, it was the memorable trip of a lifetime to see such surreal beauty, but it was cold, isolated and rushed on much of the tour.

too much waterfall and unhelpfull guide

we saw too much waterfall for the first day and skip the glacier because of it. I think its better to skip one or two small waterfal to see other area. Tour guide never remind everyone to be back on time so people were just always late to the bus. I mean its not fair for those who came in on time and want to be on schedule.. in ice cave, guide are so useless, never help to hold our hand while stepping into steep stairs and no warning about thin ice. when I step into that thin ice the respond was "do you not see the ice?" oh well, if I see that I will not step into it and soak half of my left foot inside it, am i?? lucky the ice cave looks good and I got many great pictures... but yeah, you guys can get a better tour guide :)

WOW!! You NEED to do this.

Due to the time of year we came (December) there are very few hours of daylight - nothing to do with the tour operator obviously but it was a little disappointing that some of the stops were so dark when we got there.

Great way to see the south coast

Our guide Andrea, was well-informed and supplied is with detailed information about the geology and history of the area we traveled through. He had a good sense of humor, patience, and a wealth of knowledge about Iceland. Our small group of 12 was a perfect size so that there was never a ridiculous amount of time spent transitioning from one activity to the next. The tour schedule kept us moving so that we visited quite a few sites and never had an uncomfortably long stretch of driving. Our lodging overnight near Vik was split between a hostel and Hotel Anna. My husband and I stayed at the hotel, which was cozy and charming, and has an excellent, though expensive, restaurant for dinner and a bounteous breakfast buffet which was included. On day 2, the diamond beach and ice lagoon were surreally beautiful. The crazy roller coaster ride to and on top of the glacier to see the ice caves was great- definitely worth it to experience such a remote geography. Two thumbs up for our tour!

Our tour guide was David. He is so informative, dynamic, lively, and so friendly to all of us. He made our trip memorable. The tour was great and the itinerary was complete for us. David knows what we need and what we want as a tourist. He put a lot of effort to meet our needs such as search northern light for us and drop us to a famous hot dog stall in Reykjavik even it is not included in our itinerary. It was so amazing and pleasant journey with him. He drove the bus so well and so smooth, and being so kind and helpful throughout the day. The ice cave a bit disappointed because it was not the cave that you saw on this site. The cave is just grey and has a lot of snow in it. The blue part just a little bit and not so impressive as seen on the picture. I was great experience, but just the cave that disappoint us. Thank you david for taking us around iceland. Terrific tour, great guide, humbling hospitality

Going as a group of six, we had a tremendous time on this trip, seeing some absolutely stunning landscapes , learning about some fascinating stories regarding Iceland and its history, and striking up a strong bond with our tour guide and driver, Michal. He was the consummate professional in his knowledge, attentiveness, consideration, and experience, even going so far as to take us to some hidden nooks and crannies on the tour to ensure that our tour was as personalised and unique from the other tours available. His amiable nature, and welcoming attitude made us all feel relaxed, happy, and satisfied. Above all, on the second night, disaster struck and we could not return to Reykjavik due to a strong storm. Nice Travel were top-class in having a Plan B ready for us, and Michal was most warm in checking-in on us individually to ensure we were comfortable with the plans, as well as helping to reschedule everybody else's plans for the next days. Therefore, whilst you can probably find cheaper tours elsewhere, this tour is worth every penny, providing you with great value for mone. You get a personalised experience in a small tour group, have the flexibility to spend a bit longer in some areas, and even have the opportunity to see some secret sights. Oh, and if you have Michal as your tour guide, you're in for a treat - such a lovely bloke! :)

They took us to some secret spots in addition to the main tourist attractions. I loved that this was a small group tour. Our driver, David, could take us places the big tour buses could not go. The tour was excellent! We did the 2 day, 1 night tour from Reyjkavik to Jokulsarlon glacier. The trip far exceeded our expectations. The natural beauty of the area was breathtaking. I am so thankful that we took the time to go out to the glacier and see diamond beach, ice caves, and icebergs. Our tour guide David was EXCELLENT! He really went above and beyond for everyone in our tour group and really made the tour extraordinary. We stopped on the way back to the city to see the northern lights. Although we'd already seen them, many in our group REALLY wanted to see them and we saw a spectacular light show. I am so glad we stopped. David then took anyone who wanted a hot dog into the city and stopped at the infamous hot dog stand that Bill Clinton visited as well. It was already late, the tour was over, and he had a family to go home to but he truly wanted us to have a great and full trip, so he made all of us visitors saw/ate everything they wanted.

Great value, outstanding experience!

I was on the fence about booking an excursion because I usually prefer to explore on my own. But in Nov, with limited daylight and unpredictable weather conditions, this two-day excursion will ensure that you experience the absolute best from this gorgeous region. Our guide Johannes was helpful, warm, and knowlegable from beginning to end. Our group really bonded, and that can be attributed to the small group size, the comfortable riding conditions, and Johannes's boundless positive energy. I highly recommend this option for solo travelers. It's a great way to meet people while still having your own space. Based on this experience and another excursion I took to Sneafellnes, I sense that Nice is a company with a genuine love of Iceland, a commitment to sharing that enthusiasm with others, and a knack for satisfying the restless, poetic souls of fellow travelers.

I strongly recommend that for multi-day tours in the winter season, you should book with professional tour operators instead of driving yourself. I cannot say enough good things about our tour guide / driver, David. He was very energetic, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable, and made sure we got the most out of our trip. On our first day we visited 4 waterfalls (including one secret one that required a short hike), lunch at the restaurant by Skogafoss waterfall, Eyjafallajokul volcano, rest-stop at Vik, a cliff view, and Reynisfjara black sand beach. We were given enough time to visit each location and David helped us stay on time to see all the important sites. We stayed at Hotel Gierland, which is one of the main reasons we chose this tour over the slightly cheaper one. The hotel provides private bathrooms, and has a fully stocked bar in their restaurant. That night we had the trifecta of 3 factors - a new moon, clear skies, and geomagnetic activity level 4 (of 10), so we were able to view a very good Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) show at around 11pm. Hotel Gierland is a great spot to view the lights. The next day David was informed by his HQ that there was a winter storm headed to Jokulsarlon, so he hustled us to get there in time for the Ice Cave tour, and quick stops for Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach, before we made our escape. FYI we went in mid-November, and the Ice Cave was opened up to 30 meters or so. To go deeper into the cave, visit later in the winter when more of the waters inside have gone down. We escaped Jokulsarlon before the blizzard got worse, and on the way to Vik we experienced very strong winds of 20-25 m/s. I doubt I could have driven a rental car safely in those winds, but David handled the mini-bus like a pro. After our second stop at the Vik rest-stop, the storm had caught up to us and we were in white-out blizzard conditions with winds over 100mph. We saw several cars that had crashed off to the side of the road and had to be rescued. At one point we had to stop in an emergency road-side parking lot with other cars and rescue vehicles, as conditions were impossible to drive and there was a real danger of the mini-bus tipping over due to wind. There was a risk we would have to spend the night in the minibus until the storm passed, but David kept track of weather updates and found an opportune time to make a break for it after about 2 hours. We made it safely back to our Reykjavik hotels around 10pm. I highly doubt I could have seen all the sights and made it back safely if I had driven a rental car, and would likely have crashed the car or missed my flight the next day. David had experience driving tours in these conditions before, and kept us safe, on-time, entertained, and at-ease the whole time.

David is a passionate and knowledgeable tour guide who planned the journey very well so we could make good use of the sunlight and spend enough time in every spots. He explained the natural phenomenon in details and booked a decent restaurant for us to have lunch together. The hotel is clean and cozy with nice breakfast provided. I advised everyone should finish watching Game of Thrones before joining this trip as David will try to tell you some spoilers when we visited some place where GOT was filmed (although he didn't do so at last :D) If you want to have a pleasant and fun tour in Iceland, David will be your best companion and tour guide!!

2 day tour to Jokulsarlon and South Coast Waterfalls

Our tour to South Beaches, Jokulsarlon was spectacular. Our guide Antonio Perez and our driver David were very kind, informative, helpful and dynamic. The accommodations were cozy, clean and comfortable. The views of the landscapes, falls and countryside are breathtaking. I totally recommend this tour!

best tour

This is the best tour I had in Iceland! Our tour guide, Antonio and driver, Michał were friendly and very professional. Everywhere we ate was great and the hotel we stayed at was clean and tidy. Definitely recommend.

Had an amazing experience! The landscape and sights of Iceland is amazing! Would definitely recommend this tour. Our guide Thomas was patient and pretty humorous which made for a rather entertaining trip. He also brought us on an adventure to a secret waterfall which was well worth the trip. We thoroughly enjoyed the ice cave experience and the glacier lagoon. They were so breathtaking! Accommodation was cozy and clean. The two pitstops for lunch were also pretty good. One of which had an amazing backdrop of a waterfall. Would definitely want to visit again!

We saw the most spectacular scenes during this 2 days tour. Our guide David is very very gentle and knowledgeable person. He makes sure we were on schedule. Our van had 13 ladies, sometimes we took lots of pictures and running out of time. David was always very kindly pushing us and patient. During the evening we stayed in hostel, very clean and cozy. According to the report we would be able to see the northern light. So our guide David was waiting outside to check and informs us. We were very lucky to capture the northern light. The second night on our way home, there was a huge northern light explosion. So we stopped and take pictures for an additional 30 minutes at least.

Excellent experience.

I have to say this is even better than I ever imagined. Adorable people, wonderful waterfalls, black beach and specially, the glacier and ice cave! Our driver and tour guide, David, took great care of us all in a bad weather, making it feel not so unbearable and this land so unforgetable. He showed perfect calmness and patience when my husband found he carelessly lost a bag, and helped us all the way around finding it back, can't thak enough for this.

Best tour ever

This was, without a doubt, the best tour I have ever been on. Davide was knowledgeable, sociable and professional. Not even his red pants could take away from the simple truth: this is the best way to spend your time in Iceland.

Amazing Experience!! Fantastic Guide!!

This tour, with this company, is a must! Last summer I had done the South Coast tour and had seen the Glacier Lagoon before with another company. The only thing I wanted to see was the Blue Ice Cave, so I debated on whether or not I should do it. I am so glad I decided to go. Lucia was our tour guide and David was our driver. Both were very approachable, nice, professional, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. Their main goal was to provide a positive experience and make sure you got your money's worth. Literally everyone, including myself, kept saying throughout the 2 days ... “This tour is sooo great!†Or, “I'm so happy!" Since our group was small we were able to see a great deal. And to see the sights during the winter brought on a whole new dimension to the tour, especially the Northern Lights. All in all it was a fantastic, memorable experience! I will definitely use this company again.

Great tour! Day 1 has the first few stops hitting a high amount of foot traffic with other tour groups visiting the same spots, but the secret waterfall stop made up for that in spades, great little find!!! The nights stay at the NiceHostel was great, cosy little place with complimentary soup and breakfast (although, a small negative here is that it's in Seljaland, the opposite direction to the next day's activities at Vantajokull, which means a lot of travel time on the next day). There were areas close by that night without cloud cover, but we weren't offered a northern lights hunt, possibly due to other factors. Day 2 kicked off with some fantastic weather, and made for some AMAZING vistas of the glaciers, lagoon and diamond beach. We were extremely lucky to have the ice caves open, though could only go in about 10m due to the high water. Spectacular nonetheless. The super-van driver was very entertaining, taking us on a spin ON the glacier in the van. All in all, our tour driver and guide were fantastically knowledgable and enthusiastic, making the most of the tour despite the weather conditions, and the tour was kept on schedule throughout the duration. Waterproof attire is a MUST to enjoy yourself, top and bottom. We saw many absolutely miserable people soaked to the bone wearing jeans and sneakers and similar inappropriate gear. Five Star experience.

This was a fantastic tour!! I'm so glad we went with this tour company over one that packs a bus with 40+ people. We had a small group of 11 people that allowed for a more relaxed schedule and personal attention from the guide. Speaking of - our guide, Lou, was absolutely incredible. She was knowledgeable, funny, friendly, accommodating, and extremely helpful. It turns out that I'm not the person you want next to you when hiking on ice, and Lou literally held my hand and helped me through it. We also got to see some spots that aren't shown on most other tours. Our driver, David, was also great. The hostel was very nice as well. I was expected shared bathrooms, but we had our own bathroom and shower. Our window offered a great view of the light show as well. We were fortunate enough to see a great display of dancing, colorful lights. We were also able to go into the ice cave, which apparently was not the case for others groups last months. I cannot recommend this tour enough. Book it - you won't regret it!

Our tourguide David is super fun and did take care of all of us. He tried to show all the beautiful places as much as he could. Even we managed to see the northern lights. Iceland is breathtaking and it was all because of nice travel with David! Thank you for all! Cheers~!

This tour was fantastic. We unfortunately had quite a bit of rain but it was still amazing - just make sure you bring a rain jacket, not just a snow jacket like we did! The waterfalls were spectacular and this tour took you to otherwise inaccessible ones. The glacier is truly stunning as is the lagoon. We travelled in a small intimate group of 13 people. The hostel is run by the tour company and is clean and comfortable. We had an amazing tour guide, Antonio. He was passionate, funny and knowledgeable. It was a wonderful experience.

Crazy Adventure

Highly recommended tour. Davio our tour guide is the best. He takes us to privately places where only our group is there. We have enough time to shoot photos, explore the areas and appreciate the beauty of the place. I didnt expect this tour to be this crazy adventurous which is worth taking. Davio is a pretty skilled driver, we feel safe and comfortable during the whole time. Historic wise he was also able to share a piece of Iceland history to us. 10 out of 10 stars, two thumbs up and high five for this guy. I would love to go back with this tour and request for him as the guide!

This tour was awesome and worth the price. It's small group tour and you are given ample time to go around. Our guide, David, was super fun and nice. He was very enthusiastic in sharing his knowledge about Iceland. Will definitely book with this company again!

Best Trip

Did a two day tour with David and I have to say it was the best part of Iceland. Went with my partner for our two year anniversary, we made friends with everyone on the tour with us and David our guide was friendly, informative, and really knows how to create a great tour. I HIGHLY recommend any tour he guides.

Great tour guide

The tour guide was really nice and funny, and all the arrangements were very thoughtful. Had a great time and definitely will recommend this tour to friends and family.

I have a fantastic time! The difficult part about booking this trip, is that everything is weather dependent and therefore, out of the control of the tour company. In terms of what lies within their control, everything was great. The pick-up was on time, the tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and the team was pretty good about getting the group to stay on schedule. In terms of my trip, I was really delighted to have Ulfur as a guide. I was a solo traveler and probably asked him too many questions, but he entertained them and shared a lot of interesting information about the sights and Icelandic history/culture/current shifts, etc. I was most eager to see the blue ice cave, which we were fortunately able to do. I think they were flooded for some days prior and had just opened up, so we were quite lucky. It was beautiful, but even though this was my main motivation for booking this tour, it did not end up being the highlight. For me, the best part was actually a stop at a glacier (not glacier lagoon) for sunrise on the second day. There were no other tour companies and the view was absolutely stunning. I had a moment where I just felt complete and wanted to stay there forever. Being able to experience that made the entire trip worth it. (And I was a little bummed about all the rain the day before, so this was a great stroke of luck.) Overall, I would absolutely book with this tour company again. I had such a great experience and every time I reminisce about the few days I had in Iceland, I enter back into this dream-like place. I undoubtedly will be back to explore some more in the future. See you then!

Spending my birthday on this tour with amazing guide Antonio was the best decision! He showed us hidden places that are surely less crowded or not touristic at all. He did go extra to satisfy us and tried to make our day special in Iceland. we couldn't try ice caving because of constant rain couple of days before our tour, but we were able to walk on the glaciers and go inside of the black cave. We stayed in hotel Geirland. Its pretty small but feel so cozy with beautiful scenery. Overall I do recommend you to go for this tour especially with guide Antonio!

This tour was beautiful to say the least and the perfect amount of time to enjoy the sights. David was an amazing guide! I definitely want to come back to do another tour with David in the future.

We really enjoyed this tour! We traveled 3 days ago and despite the very cold and rainy weather we had a lovely time. The waterfalls are very nice, the black sand beach is super beautiful and the glacier is quite an experience... we couldn't get inside the blue cave because of the weather but we could get inside an small black cave and also walk on the glacier. Our guide was Anika and she was very kind with us the whole time. The hostel was great, very comfortable and excellent food.

first, Arnar and Einor, our tour captains are very caring and friendly icelandic people. We were shown to the 5 waterfalls, 2 beaches, ice lagoon, ice cave, glaicer and many coffee stops. We were driven through the beautiful coastline smoothly in rain, gust, snow, ice, dust storm, and sunshine in a day. I would enjoy the walk better if I have packed waterproof boot up to ankle, raincoat, small plastic bag to waterproof my camera and ice grippers. But I get on without them. My friend had good fun, but just wish for more time in blue ice cave because it is beautiful, but I think it is out of control by our captains as another ice cave guide control the time. overall, it is very satisfying.

Amazing. Our tour guides Antonio and Michael did a great job of getting us safely to all our destination. I really debated renting a car or taking a tour, but in the end seeing the way the weather was I am glad to have Michael driving and I am sure I would not have seen many of the waterfalls and glaciers on my own. Antonio passion and knowledge of the area clearly came through during our many stops. We saw 4 waterfalls the first day. 2 famous ones and 2 that are hidden and you have to hike a little bit for. Then we stayed in a very comfortable and clean guest house. The staff there were also excellent. They serve soup and bread complimentary, but pizza is available for purchase. Breakfast is also complimentary. The next day it had snowed heavily, again very glad I had a experienced driver. We went to the glacier and Crystal Cave. Stunningly beautiful. Antonio explained the local volcano and the history of eruptions last on grounded planes traffic because of the ash and gas plume. We stopped and saw the frozen lake where Game of thrones shot the Wilding fort when the White walkers attacked and John Snow narrowly escaped. (it was January at the time of my visit). The sun had come out by this time and we went to the Black Beach. Watch out for those waves, but beautiful to see. There is a giant Balsam columns cave there. Then on to the glacier lagoon and diamondhead beach. Shockly beautiful. An experienced you will never forget. This is the highlight of my entire trip to Iceland and not to be missed. We stopped for lunch, the one last upclose look at the glacier and short hike. Then we returned to Reykjavik. I can't Thank Nicetravels, Antonio and Michael enough for a wonderful 2 days.

Iceland is by far the most spectacular country I've ever been. I had a really fab time during 3 tour trip via NiceTravel. The 2-day tour trip including blue ice cave and glacier walk is far more amazing. Ros is our driver and Antonio is the tour guide. Both of them have accompanied us for a nice period. Antonio is considerable and humorous. He insures that everyone is safe and makes the trip full of fun. During the night he also guided us to watch the northern light and the next day we are so lucky to see the rare "mother of pearls ". It's a really fantastic traveling experience.

2 Day Tour to Blue Ice Cave, Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon and South Coast Waterfalls

Amazing trip to see the wonders of the south coast! Tomasz and Michal really took very good care of us. I am especially appreciative because Nice Travel generously allowed me to to carry on the trip without extra cost despite a mistake in my booking made by another travel agency. Another example of the personal touch they wanted to achieve.
