This tour typically returns to Reykjavik on Day 3 around 09:15pm (21:15)
The Golden circle is the most popular destination in Iceland. Geysers, Gullfoss waterfall and Thingvellir are a must see for any visitor to our island.
We want to add something unique to your experience and that´s why we will also visit the big volcanic crater called Kerid. The crater is 270 m wide and more than 55 m deep. There is a lake in the bottom of the crater which gives it a little bit of magic. The lake is almost 14 m deep.
Thingvellir National park is the National shire of all Icelanders. It lies within the belt of volcanic activity and fissures which pass across Iceland, a part of the mid-Atlantic ridge, the junction of the american and Eurasian tectonic plates. It is a nice feeling to stand with your right foot in Europe and the left one in America.
Geysir – the biggest geysers of Haukadalur are Strokkur and Geysir itself, which gives the others their name. Strokkur erups every 5 to 10 minutes, throwing a column of water into the air to a height of 20 to 30 meters.
Gullfoss is one of the most amazing waterfalls in Iceland.
We will stay over night in a cozy guesthouse very near to the great waterfall Seljalandsfoss
We start with visiting the two great waterfalls of the south coast, Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, as well as visiting lesser known, more secret waterfalls Glufrabui, Kvernufoss and Irafoss. We make a stop where guests can buy lunch.
As we continue we will drive under the great Eyjafjallajökull glacier volcano and the Mýrdalsjökull glacier cap, where we take a Glacier Hike for about 1,5 hours and have a closer look at the Solheimajokull glacier.
A bit further is the great Reynisfjara beach, where the sea crashes upon black sands and hexagonal basalt columns and rock stacks tower over the surroundings.
We will be staying again overnight in a Nicehostel Seljalands, a very cosy accommodation close to the famous Seljalandsfoss.
Today, you will take a close look at majestic glaciers and lagoons. After a stop in the lovely village of Vik we drive to the East where we visit the waterfall Foss á Sidu and the National park in Skaftafell where we make a stop where guests can buy lunch.
Then we head to the amazing Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon where you will have a boat tour, sailing on the lagoon. The lagoon is full of huge chunks of ice which crack off Breiðamerkurjökull glacier and float slowly out to sea. Some icebergs wash on shore, lying on the vivid black sand like diamonds on satin. There is a good possibility of seeing seals swimming around the huge icebergs.
After enjoying this wonderful experience we head back in the afternoon towards Reykjavik where we estimate to arrive around 21:15 (09:15pm).

We had an amazing time. We didn't plan a long trip to Iceland and wanted to see as much as possible. This was a great way. Lots of sights and enough time at each to really enjoy them. Very knowledgeable guide and we got to visit some hidden gems. Bring a rain coat for the trips behind the waterfall and the pop up rain shower. Our stay at the Hostel was so perfect. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Good food and friendly hosts. We loved every minute!
This tour was fantastic! Valli, our tour guide, was not only informative, friendly and accommodating but so much fun! The decision to do a 3 day tour over multiple 1 day was perfect. Valli helped us stay on track so we could see as much as possible in the 3 days. The guest house was clean and the folks there were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Felt like family. Don't miss out on this tour, you won't be sorry. I didn't want the 3 days to end.
This was an amazing Trip! Our driver, Valli, was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. We loved him! We had just enough time at each stop to really take everything in felt like we go to see so much. The guest house was very clean, including the bathrooms! The rooms were quiet when it was time to sleep. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the food was tasty. If you're debating whether to do a 3-day versus several 1-day trips, I highly recommend the 3-day. Everyone we spoke with who did the 1-day said they didn't get to see and do as much as we did.
Iceland Review - Nice Travel - August 2017WOW, what an amazing tour! (Despite the challenging weather) .... Day 1 starting from Reykjavik takes you to all the standard Golden Circle places, including a walk through the American and European/Asian tectonic plates in the Þingvellir National Park, the iconic Gullfoss waterfall; the Geysir Geothermal Areais (home to the rare and spectacular phenomenon of geysers; and last but not least, Kerið - the volcanic crater lake. It's not that these aren't interesting, they are, but the route is covered by all the tour operators so plenty of tourists! Its the next two days that really bring the tour to life! Day 2 is full-on, an activity packed day hiking, climbing under, in, and above amazing waterfalls (getting drenched), stunning scenery (despite the weather), climbing a glacier, and finishing with a black beach with basalt columns which were the inspiration for Reykjavic's Hallgrimskirkja Cathedral. Day 3 is a long driving day today but worth it to get to south east Iceland. Heading to The Glacier Lagoon & a fabulous amphibian boat tour (where we sampled a piece of 1,000 year old ice), we had a great history lesson, visited the cloud-like lava fields, drove around the base of Vatnajökull (Iceland largest glacier @ 10% of the country's surface), & walked the black beach - anyone fancy swimming at a beach where the shore is covered with huge chunks of ice broken off the glacier? On the return journey we hiked up a trail of the glacier in the Skaftagell National park before stopping off in the pretty little village of Vik.This is a fabulous 3 day tour that makes you feel like you've been away for a week - thank you Iceland &, in particular, Lucia and David of Nice Travel tours, Lucia was a mindful of knowledge and David's driving was great. The history and scenery were amazing but these two made it enjoyable and so much more. If your contemplating this tour, go for it, absolutely worth it!
I had a wonderful time. This was a well organized tour and the sights were incredible. The only criticism during the first day was a lunch stop at a grossly overpriced restaurant complex ( $28 CAD for a bowl of soup). Days 2 and 3 were just perfect. A special thanks to the tour guides, Lucia and Davide, very genuine, warm and knowledgable individuals with a wonderful sense of humour. It is so great that this tour has a maximum capacity of 15 people, making the travel logistics very simple. The ride was comfortable and the overnight stays were in a clean hostel where one could sample locallly prepared homemade soup ( at a very reasonable price;). The highlight for me was the glacier hike but truly, every stop made on this tour was beautiful so bring a camera!
I can highly recommend this trip:- Owing that Iceland is one of the most expensive place on Earth this 3 days event really does represent good value,- All guides/drivers are very professional, well-mannered and on-time,- Food/meal stops are very adequate and also presenting good value and quality,- Two nights you will spent in very cosy hostel/guest-house in Seljaland. Few tips: ask your driver to give you some time in the grocery (Bonus is the best). Buy there a beer or other drinks as they only serve Lamb Soup (delicious) costing 1000IKR and some pizzas. Take some slippers or something, as there is “we leave shoes at the door” policy there. Accommodation is really good with nice people and cool welcome cake each evening,- I am sure that in case we had a car and tried touring on our own, we would missed most the places we visited with the guys from Nice Travel.
