Close to Exeter Hotel, you’ll find the Harpa Concert Hall, renowned for its striking architecture and vibrant cultural events. The Old Reykjavik Harbour is nearby, offering opportunities for whale watching tours and scenic walks along the waterfront. The area also boasts a lively arts scene, with galleries and museums showcasing Icelandic creativity, as well as a range of unique boutiques and cafes where you can experience local flavours and craftsmanship. This central location places you within a zone closed to commercial traffic, meaning tour companies cannot pick up guests directly from the hotel. Instead, all visitors taking tours in Iceland, whether for a day or an extended package, must proceed to the designated meeting point set by the city of Reykjavik.
For guests at Exeter Hotel, reaching the meeting point is straightforward. It’s just a 2-minute walk to Bus Stop 4, located in Miðbakki Harbour. Here, you’ll find a basketball pitch, a skatepark, and a large parking lot. The meeting point is situated between the parking area and an old harbour hangar with a blue rooftop. Notably, this spot also features the only locomotive in Iceland, once used to build the piers. Behind the bus stop, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Esjan mountain range and the old harbour, bustling with fishing vessels and cruise ships during the summer.
Tour pick-ups begin 30 minutes before departure, and it may take up to 30 minutes to gather all guests as we make our way out of the city to start our tours in Iceland. We aim to ensure you find your way to the meeting point effortlessly, allowing you to relax and anticipate the start of your adventure. Our goal is to make your journey as smooth as possible, so you can focus on the incredible experiences that await you in Iceland.
