Wild South Coast | Waterfalls, Black beach and Glacier Hike
If you are a nature lover, then this tour is made for you! It visits all the great attractions of the South Coast, Glaciers, the Black beach of Reynisfjara, Eyjafjallajökull glacier volcano and of course several of the beautiful waterfalls.
The highlight of the tour is a Blue Ice Glacier Hike on Solheimajokull glacier which takes around 1,5 hour.
We start with visiting the two great waterfalls of the south coast, Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, as well as visiting lesser known, more secret waterfalls Glufrabui, Kvernufoss and Irafoss. As we continue we will drive under the great Eyjafjallajökull glacier volcano and the Mýrdalsjökull glacier cap, where we take a Glacier Hike for about 1,5 hours and have a closer look at the Solheimajokull glacier.
A bit further is the great Reynisfjara beach, where the sea crashes upon black sands and hexagonal basalt columns and rock stacks tower over the surroundings.
In one day we will see two volcanoes and discover five amazing waterfalls, visit Reynisfjara and get up close and personal with the sleeping ice giants that are our glaciers during the glacier hike. A perfect tour for the curious tourist and the inquisitive nature lover!

This tour is absolutely fantastic. There are multiple gorgeous sights that you're able to view and photograph, and with the limited number of people they allow on the tour, it allows for a very personal experience. We were lucky to have David for both this tour and the Golden Circle/Blue Lagoon tour as well (also an awesome tour, much more relaxing than this one). David was informative, funny and gave his 100% effort in making sure everyone was having a great day. He tells you all the best places to take photographs, and exactly what you should try to see while you're at each sight. The glacier walk is more beautiful than I imagined, as you submerse yourself right in the middle of the glaciers with amazing views. I would definitely recommend this tour.
This tour was the highlight of our trip to Iceland! The sights were unbelievably gorgeous and our tour guide, Lucia, was so knowledgeable and friendly and really went the extra mile to make this a special day for us. The glacier hike was really cool, truly a once in a lifetime experience. Also, my sister and I were the only 2 people to sign up that day, so we basically got a private tour! I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone planning a trip to Iceland, and if I'm lucky enough to make another trip there, I will definitely be booking another tour with this company
My mom and I did a shortened and slightly cheaper version of this tour, by omitting the glacier hike and instead just going up to the glacier without hiking it since my mom has a bad knee. Nonetheless the tour was amazing, and I highly recommend it to anyone who can do the hike! The South shore is beautiful and you get to see a lot of the tiny villages and farms outside of Reykjavik. The black beaches were very cool and we got to see puffins and a Basalt cave while there. Our guide Michael was amazing and told us all about the places we visited. He is very kind and funny as well; he even pulled over so we could pet the Icelandic horses for a bit. Seeing the natural wonders such as a glacier (that is quickly disappearing), a volcano, the shore, and dozens of stunning waterfalls is an incredibly humbling and rewarding experience. I would say the South shore is a priority for visitors to Iceland, and an absolute must do for those interested in nature and geoscience.
Absolutely loved this excursion and was worth every penny of the time and money. Its hard to say what part was the best but the experience was made even better by the personable and knowledgeable Lucia and David combination. Truly is like spending the day with that local family friend who can discuss anything and everything. Recommend the small group experience 100%.
Absolutely amazing tour. Lucia and Navid (sp?) were spectacular guides. Both were so knowledgeable and so much fun. Felt like they were long lost friends. Will certainly seek them out for other tours when we return to Iceland. Highly recommend this tour company. We were the only 2 people who booked the tour on that particular day and instead of cancelling the trip, Lucia and Navid showed up in a SUV and gave us a VIP experience.
My husband and I along with our two adult daughters and their significant others took this tour April 2017 and I can't say enough about how wonderful it was. Aside from our group of 6, there was only another couple for a total tour group of 8 which lends itself to a very personal experience. From the moment the tour bus picked us up, I knew it was going to great! Our tour guide Antonio was so friendly, extremely knowledgeable about all the sites we visited and the history of Iceland. Our driver Thor was great and we all felt very safe. Both my husband and I are a "little older" and Antonio encouraged me every step. It was by far my best day in Iceland. My only regret was that I was leaving the next day and couldn't do another tour. I highly recommend Nice travel to anyone traveling to Iceland and wants a tour on a more personal level.
The waterfalls are great but remember to wear waterproof outfits. We went into the waterfalls but all our clothes and shoes are wet after that. The glacier hike is also very interesting.
We took this travel on Friday in April . Those waterfalls are great. Our tour guide took us into the water falls. It's really fun and feels like an nature explorer. It's highly recommended to take a set of water proof clothes :). The black sand beach is a beautiful place to feel the nature power.
Fantastic tour. Apart from the very famous waterfalls, we were taken to see a few less visited ones which are absolutely stunning. David is a very special tour guide. He's go out of his way to offer advice & take us to some very exotic scenic spots. Strongly recommend this tour. Hope you are lucky to have David as your guide.
We took this tour in April. It was a very great trip with a very professional tour guide. He led us to the special spots and beautiful places where we could take good photos. Also, felt fulfilled that we could go to a lot of spots within one days 🙂 Great trip ever
I had a nice tour guide with me in this tour. He showed us a lot of secret places where very few people reach. It's really astonishing to see all those waterfalls! But be ready to get wet if you go to waterfalls in a rainy day! It will be super wet! The black sand beach was amazing as well~ the waves, the rocks and the cliffs... it was a really really fun experience! Worth a go~
My friend and I took this tour in March 2017, and it was a really fun tour. Aside from us, there were only 3 other people in the tour. The tour guide was very knowledgable about Iceland, nature, and the waterfalls, glacier, and beach we went to. Highly recommend!
