Join this outing for a captivating tour of Snæfellsnes peninsula in western Iceland. Sometimes called “Iceland in miniature,” due to its many different kinds of geology all in one place, you can’t miss this if you want to capture the true spirit and beauty of the island. This is also a small-group tour of at most 19 people, as we believe this creates a more enjoyable and personal experience for our guests.
You’ll be picked up at your accommodation and swept off to the west. First, you’ll view Snæfellsjökull volcano, wearing a magnificent crown of ice, the highest peak in this area of Iceland and is often visible on clear days from Reykjavik. It is this place that Jules Verne chose as the entrance to the earth’s core in Journey to the Center of the Earth by Jules Verne.
Ytri-Tunga is a charming farm with a nearby beach that is a popular seal colony. Animal lovers will enjoy seeing their cute faces as they sunbathe and play in the surf.
Arnarstapi and Hellnar are located in a lovely coastal area with a natural harbor. Beautiful rock formations decorate the coastline, spotted with green-and-yellow moss, and you can stroll along the cliffs here to take in the refreshing sea air.
Look for Lóndrangar, two black basalt columns marking the coast, so tall they can be seen from the road! Djúpalónssandur is another gorgeous black beach, where the air is filled with the sounds of birds circling the cliffs and the ocean waves hitting the sand.
At Djúpalónssandur, you’ll find a curiosity on the beach: four large, smooth stones. They are “lifting stones,” used to measure the strength of fishermen who once worked and lived all along the coasts here.
The biggest one is called Fullsterkur (“Full-Strength”) and weighs 154 kg (340 lbs). Be sure to lift with your knees so you don’t hurt your back on this one! The second one is called Hálfsterkur (“Half-Strength”) and weighs 100 kg (220 lbs). The third one is called Hálfdrættingur (“Weakling”) and weighs 54 kg (119 lbs). Last, you were the shame of your village if you can only lift Amlóði (“Useless”), at 23 kg (50 lbs).
If a fisherman wanted to earn a spot on the fishing boat, he had to be able to lift the “Hálfdrættingur” stone – anything less, and they were not acceptable. Try your strength! Are you ready to join the boats?
At your last stop, Kirkjufell mountain rises out of the green hills, surrounded by trickling rivers. This is one of the most popular photography spots in Iceland, so be sure to get a picture for your own collection!
Don’t miss this opportunity to see the most stunning landscapes in western Iceland! Check the booking availability above by selecting your preferred travel date.
The maximum number of passengers on the tour are 19 which we believe creates a more personal and enjoyable experience for our guests.
Have one more day in Iceland? Consider two days 2 Days Snæfellsnes Peninsula Tour that will take you as well to Borgarfjörður area where you will see stunning Vidgelmir Lava Cave and relax in Geothermal SPA powered by the most powerful hot spring in Europe!

Thanks to our tour guide Mikael we’ve managed to see everything despite the weather conditions and closed roads! Big gratitude to Mikael as he even showed us seals (again weather conditions gave us a very little chance to see them), unforgettable experience! Snæfellsness peninsula is probably the most beautiful part of Iceland! Thank you a lot guys!
We had a great time on our day trip to the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. Our guide Mark was very informative and pleasant. Our bus got stuck in the snow at the last stop, and Mark worked tirelessly to get us out, which he did. Thanks for a lovely experience.
We loved our day trip to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. Our guide, Thor, was friendly, entertaining, and informative and provided us with an all around great experience. We stopped at many beautiful places and enjoyed a delicious lunch. Our group turned out to only be 3 guests total + Thor, so it was a very personal experience. Drop-off and pick-up were seamless, and we had great weather which made for excellent exploring. Would recommend this tour to anyone looking to get out to the peninsula. Thanks, Thor and Nice Travel!
My husband and I enjoyed the tour. Thor was funny, he had a unique handlebar mustache so he was easy to see in a crowd. There were plenty of bathroom breaks, there stop for lunch was tasty, and we have an overall NICE experience.
We have gone for a great tour with fabulous landscapes. With a knowledgable tour guide, we have learnt a lot of Icelandic history and folklores, and he always put our safety in priority and taught us how to wash hands and do the chicken hand shake. :)
He gave us a master class about how to drive with a strong snowy wind!!! He always tried to find the way to show us the best places of the tour. I recommend it
Amazing your and excellent guide. He gave us a master class about how to drive with a strong snowy wind!!! He always tried to find the way to show us the best places of the tour. I recommend it
We had a great tour in the Snaefellsnes national park, our guide Edi was top and explained us all about this great place. We head also the pleasure to see seals. All was very professionally organized and we had a very pleasant trip. It’s already our 2nd trip with Nice Travel and we highly recommend this company and their super guides & services. Thanks guys for this wonderful experience!
We had bad weather (storm) but Andrea was so good to let us see some places that aren't in the trip as we had to stop at the middle of the roundtrip of Snaefellsness Peninsula...Iceland is a wonderful and magic place where nature is king...we had to accept it and take advantage of being there to see the strenght of wild nature. Fortunately we saw the wonderful mountain. Thanks
Besten Dank
We spent a lovely day with our guide, Thor, travelling to the various sites on the Peninsula. It was wonderful to have a local guide who was happy to share interesting stories from the region. Highly recommended tour!
Great experience with our guide Thor to wonder around the peninsula of Snæfellsnes, well designed schedule, even some added destinations, saw seals, also enjoyed the dinner at local restaurant recommended by Thor!
Guide Nicola was the best! Her positive energy made all the difference to the tour! Great driving in scary road conditions. Beautiful scenery in Snaefellsness peninsula. Well worth the trip!
We had one of the best tours yet in Iceland. Our driver and guide Einar was outstanding. His knowledge was fantastic and he gave a really good overview of all the attractions. We were only 6 in the group and never felt rushed at all. Each and every one of the stops was worthwhile and from a photographic point of view it was brilliant. We were lucky that the weather was perfect too ! I would highly recommend this tour and would certainly use Nice Travel again. Thank you Einar for making it such a good day.
Our guide Michael (Mika) was a great guide! He was very friendly and informative and drive safely. We saw many seals, they were so cute!
El guía ( David) muy organizado y atento a las preferencias y necesidades del grupo
Saw some beautiful landscapes and seals . Ross was a great guide, friendly and informative and managed to get us to all the sites before darkness fell at 4pm. The restaurant he took us to for lunch was exceptional.Took great care of us in icy conditions and found crampons for us . 5 stars from us !
I can’t remember the tour guides name, he was an Italian chap, but wow, his knowledge was unbelievable and so interesting. The areas we visited were breathtaking and not at all overcrowded. Would highly recommend this, first class.
Fantastic guid. Willing to go the extra Mile for you.
This tour was phenomenal! The sights and even the small restaurant you stop at along the way were all amazing. Definitely worth taking this tour!
The Snaefellsness Tour was a wonderful experience, great nature und awesome spots, with enough time to stroll around in a small group. Einar was a great guide who told a lot of nice stories and hosted the tour like a pro. Big recommendation for everyone who wants to see great nature besides the usual spots!
We were picked up in a very fancy Mercedes Benz sprinter van. Comfortable seats and great onboard facilities. WiFi and usb charging ports were available. The guide was friendly, funny and well Informed. The locations were well picked out and we reached each place on time and were given enough time to explore and take pictures. The restaurant that we were taken to for lunch was amazing and a great recommendation from the driver. Our first taste of authentic Icelandic cuisine. We managed to cover all locations with the limited daylight hours we had. A well designed tour, definitely worth the day.
Great trip , beautiful scenery and excellent guide / driver Einar.
Although it started uneventfully, this tour was soon to reveal an amazing sequence of stunning highlights. The driver/guide, Chris, was excellent and pointed out several interesting features as we headed to the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. We continued on to a fantastic extra stop at the Black Church where a wedding party was just departing. Everyone in the van was happy with this short detour and thanked Chris for his suggestion. The first highlight was Arnarstapi, a small fishing village with huge lava/basalt formations right on the beach. I have never seen anything quite like this. The views were fantastic—even a rainbow that lasted the entire time. After a great lunch, we headed up the peninsula coast to Londrangar, the next highlight. We could see the towering black basalt towers on the coast as we approached. Next was the black sand beach of Djupalonssandur. After walking through a stunning path lined with very tall lava formations to an amazingly beautiful black pebble and sand beach with lava formations. Continuing around the peninsula, the next stop was Kirkjufell mountain. I still hadn’t quite put it all together in my mind (the mountains on the left and the waterfalls across the road on the right) until I made it up the hill, crossed the bridge and looked back at Kirkjufell. And there it was, that classic view of Kirkjufell Mountain with the waterfalls appearing to be at its base. I guess you can tell that even after being home for four weeks now, the memories of the highlights I’d seen and experienced is still prominent in my mind. When I look at my images, I just stare and say thank you NiceTravel for a marvelous day tour. NiceTravel, you are the best!
The Snaefellsnes peninsula is truly beautiful! We enjoyed the stops and learning some of the history of the area. Our guide, Thor, was terrific and made sure we didn’t miss anything!
Everything was simply great. The driver was so nice the day we went and all the places of the trip were just taken from a dream. Highly recommended.
Had a great tour with Skuli on the Snæfellsnes tour~ it was a beautiful and fully arranged day and Skuli took us to many different attractions in the area. I loved he took us to some places that few tour buses would go~ it’s the perfect tour!
Despite thewindy weather the guide has done most of he could to keep the group entertained. Thanks for the trip.
Thor was full of stories and folklore about the area being a local from Snæfellsnes. He balanced time spent talking and sharing fun facts with just chilling with his eclectic music collection and letting everyone nap. The timings were good and we didn’t feel rushed, and the itinerary felt well planned. Thanks to Thor we really got a taste of the Icelandic sagas - I’d highly recommend!
Wonderful journey in Snaefellsness national park with a very busy and interesting day trip around the region! The guide was perfect, funny and full of stories!
Wonderful journey in Snaefellsness national park with a very busy and interesting day trip around the region! The guide was perfect, funny and full of stories!
Had a great tour with Thor!!! He was amazing and very informative. He answered everyone’s questions on the tour and was very entertaining during the drive. I will recommend this tour to everyone and it was the best tour I had during my stay in Iceland.
What a fantastic journey. Beyond my expectations. Totally worth the price. We lucked out with beautiful weather.. Regardless of the weather be prepared for an eleven hour day trip experience of a lifetime. The glacier views and black sand beach were otherworldly. Our driver Nicola was great. She even took us in her beautiful Mercedes van to see seals basking in the sun. Amazing. Iceland is very cool. What a blast!
There are no words to describe the wonders of Iceland and the organization with Nice Travel. It was the best day of my life, full of culture and knowledge of one of the most beautiful places in the world, I had a lot of fun and met many new people, including the guide David: A smart guy and a lot nice, professional, prepared and very adept at driving. David made me understand a lot about the birth of Iceland, its history but above all the formation and composition of the volcanic landscape of snaefellsnes. All very perfect, even the punctuality of the pick-up at bus stop 10. Iceland made me seriously fall in love so much that I could think of a possible transfer there forever. I won't deny that during my last excursion on my last day in Iceland, at 6:47 pm on September 30th, while I was aboard one of the beautiful Mercedes Nice Travel buses back to Reykjavìk, I shed a few tears, because thanks to Nice Travel and thanks to 'Iceland I understood a lot about my life, about what to do, but above all it made me understand that once you fall in love with Iceland it is impossible to get out of it. Thanks David, thanks Nice Travel, thanks Iceland. See you next year!
Highly recommend this tour, our driver Raynir was friendly , knowledgeable and accommodating, He shared a lot of history including personal stories of his Icelandic lifestyle and heritage. He drive safely and even got off the bus in the rain to take individual photos of everyone and explain what we were seeing at the dramatic black sand beach. Don’t miss this tour! Thank you for a great day with experiences we’ll always remember.
I participated in the tour for the first time. Thanks to the tour guide for letting me have a wonderful journey. He is a very good person, thank him and forget his name.
Loved our one day trip to the Snaefellsness Peninsula with Mika. His magic with the trolls gave us good weather and a rainbow to boot. He knows and loves Iceland. He gives the right amount of information, is an excellent driver, and cares about every one on the small tour. You will love the beauty of the area, the black beach was our favorite. Easy pickup and the company even brought the individual who missed the pickup time to us. Best company to take an excellent tour to see all the sites and beauty of Iceland. Our guide, Mika even took care of a change we needed to make with the day of our 3 tour. Both the company and guides are great to work with. The small group vans are comfortable, new, clean, safe and the perfect size to see Iceland.
I absolutely enjoyed The mysterious Snæfellsnes National Park day tour. A long day with many lovely places. The tour was very well planed and organised. Our guide -Einar - was very friendly and told us very interesting things about Iceland’s history. I would definitely recommend Snæfellsnes National Park tour with Nicetravel!
Great experience! It's our second tour with NiceTravel and we couldn't be happier with the beautiful landscapes and the great drivers/guides we were with. Thank you!
We enjoyed the tour a lot and would be happy to do it again????????
I absolutely enjoyed SNÆFELLSNES National Park day tour :D Every place we visited is stunning and I would never forget how beautiful the world is like in Iceland. Massive thank you to out lovely tour guide ,who is super fun and hospitable. I would definitely come back to Iceland to join another lovely tour!!
It was our second tour with nicetravel and by far the best Organisation for tours on Iceland. The guide ( we forgot the name, but he actually lived around Snæfellsnes) was very friendly, told us very interesting things about Iceland’s history, the nature and showed us extra cool spots to take pictures beside the expected ones. It was the only tour yet that was very relaxing. We never felt rushed and loved everything about it.
A great tour with many samples of all the various Icelandic landscapes. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and would give us background information and stories.
They mysterious Snæfellsnes National Park The glorious scenery, the ancient landscape, the tranquility of the place worked its magic on me. I fell in love with Iceland on this hauntingly beautiful peninsula. Our guide, Thormodur, was the perfect host for this place which he obviously loves. He regaled is with history, mythology, stories of trolls and elves. Lunch was absolutely delicious! Thorn called ahead and order fresh cod for us at the Sker restaurant. Superb! We were treated to tasty morsels, a broad sample of what the peninsula has to offer from thundering towering waterfalls to the mystical glacier, black beaches accessed through squiggly columns and walls of lava dumped there so long ago. NICE delivered all that it promised and more. I recommend that you go but allow more time. We’ll return to Iceland to see more of its magic. Thank you NICE we had a very very NICE time.
The tour to the peninsula was extremely beautiful and well organised. Our super friendly and nice guide David told us a lot of stories about history of Iceland and showed us all the beautiful places and many more "why not" stops which were not even in the agenda. Beautiful beaches, faterfalls, mountains and so many more! I highly recommend Nicetour for your trips, because I have been on 2 tours already and both of them were amazing with highly professional guides and very well organised. David is born to be guide, he does his job with so much enthusiasm and joy. Thank you David and thank you Nicetravel for the beautiful tour and wonderful adventures! I will come back again!!
Our guide Thor is from there and give US a lot of curios information about de área, we enjoy it
Very professional and amicable guide; astonishingly amazing scenic sights.
This was a great tour with some stunning sights. Our guide (Reynir) was very engaging and made our day trip even better.
For the first time to visit Iceland, your guide/drive give me a very good impression. He last me lot of the history and local life of the Area other than the sightseeing points. Good job
We went around the peninsula counter-clockwise, so the order of viewing was different from the schedule. But it was a good time to eat fish food in a restraint.
Thor was a wonderful guide. He was engaged, witty, knew his stuff and clearly conveyed his love of Iceland. We learned a lot while viewing absolutely beautiful waterfalls, beaches and lava fields. Birds galore, wonderful lunch, personal stories and a fun group of people combined to make this a very memorable day trip. Thanks Thor!
We felt very fortunate to have Mika as our guide. This was our 2nd tour in Iceland which gave us a means to compare. Mika was careful to instruct everyone on safety in the bus and on the trails. He made sure everyone knew where to go and explained the choices we could make and accompanied the group partially or through the entire hike. Expectations were managed very well. His knowledge of folklore, history and geology was amazing. We had a great day!
This was a great tour - we saw a lot, and our guide, David, was knowledgeable and friendly (and pro-safety, insisting on seat belts). We took several "why not" picture stops in addition to the official/planned itinerary. I have some great photos from this tour! The NICEtravel bus was fairly clean and having a USB port to charge my phone - so that I could keep taking photos - was a nice bonus. I do wish the bus was a little less cramped - I'm not tall but my knees were shoved up against the seat in front of me. That's not unique to NICEtravel; every tour bus I took on my trip to Iceland was similarly designed.
A great tour, there was a lot included but the pace was just right. Lovely scenery, knowledgable driver guide, David, who’s “why not” stops in addition to the scheduled ones were much appreciated.
The tour was beyond our expectations. Our guide was wonderful. His knowledge of the peninsula and it’s history was extensive. We were treated to additional sites along the way as well. Couldn’t have been happier.
The scenery was breathtaking, and different to the landscapes we had previously visited on tours west of Reykjavík, with gorgeous rolling green fields (of volcanic rock!) and a stunning coastline of traditional villages. The bus itself was very modern and comfortable (although not clean) and the driver was friendly and informative, however from where we were sitting the audio quality of the speaker wasn’t fantastic so it was hard to catch a lot of what he was saying, which was a shame. He also included bonus extra stops which were interesting, although this meant for the main advertised stops such as Kirkjufell and Djúpalónssandur beach we had very little time, only 30 minutes to explore which made them feel rushed. Another stop that felt unnecessary was an hour break at a (rather expensive) restaurant, to cater for those in the group that hadn’t brought lunch with them (on an 11 hour excursion!) Maybe the tour description could explicitly say to bring your own food (which could be purchased at the well stocked service station we stopped at for a toilet break on the way) so more time could be spent exploring the scenery, which is what we paid for. Overall a Good tour to a fantastic location just frustrating at times when we had to rush taking in the views!
Our first Nice travel tour in Iceland was a combination of the breaktaking topography and vistas that make up the western peninsula and the comfort of small tour group. The minibus seats are very comfortable considering the long drives in between stops. Our guide Ronan was knowledgeable but as the driver needs to concentrate on the road perhaps a series of videos on the country and sights we are seeing or a recorded commentary to pass the time. The fish restaurant at Arnastapi has a delicious menu. Time at each stop never left us rushed. We appreciated the flexibility of joining the tour in Bogarnes. Amazing tour that would have been difficult to navigate/drive and enjoy by ourselves. We had an equally hospitable Golden Circle tour a few days later with Nice travel
We enjoyed the sheer beauty of the Snaefellsnes Peninsula, the tour itself had a few stops that were really “nothing” therefore a lot of unnecessary driving......driver guide was good but would have liked more information when outside of the bus
Very pleasant journey! The guide Christina was very passionate and funny. We spend a great day together.
The Snaefelssnes peninsula is wonderful and I highly recommend visiting it. The disappointing part of the tour was the guide who was less than perfect. He made a stop for lunch in a place that maybe wasn't the best and told everyone in the bus that he booked a table for the entire group, without consulting us. He didn't even mention that everyone should have the liberty to choose if/where they want to go for lunch. After I told him that me and my wife weren't joining him, he wasn't very pleasant in his reaction. After lunch time he was 10 minutes late passed the time he gave us. During the drive he was ok, but much less informative than guides we had on other tours. He kept talking privately to the people in first row, closest to him... Whole experience was good though, due to the nature's beauty.
Our Peninsula tour was lovely! Our driver managed the perfect amount of information and quiet so that we could just take in the beauty of the scenery. We'd already done a significant amount of driving so having someone take over for the day was relaxing. Also, we'd never have found all the extra "unknown" spots that he shared with us. The size of the tour was perfect and the van was comfortable. Let someone else take the wheel for a day!
We had an amazing day touring the peninsula! Our guide Mikel (sorry, spelling?) was super friendly and knowledgeable. We had ample time at all of the stops. We had time for a lovely lunch at a wonderful restaurant (Sker) along the coast. We highly recommend this tour with this company!
We really enjoyed the tour around the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. Ourt guide Roman managed to avoid the worst of the weather and even sneak in a few extra stops. Highly recommended if you're not planning a longer stay on the peninsula.
We had a great day even though the wind was strong. Our tour guide Nicola was amazing - she was very informative and kept us entertained during the trip. The stops were fun and we enjoyed all aspects of the day. We recommend using Nice tours for this area!
This tour was an after thought but made our short trip to Iceland. We both so enjoyed our day tour. The scenery on the Snaelfellsnes Peninsular Tour was so so much better than the "Golden Circle" tour touted by so many companies as the best. It gave a us an appreciation of the size and beauty of the country. Added to this our guide Nicola was so informed about the history, and gave us a passionate and thorough commentary throughout the day. She was articulate, obliging and overall awesome.
It was a fantastic day traveling to Peninsula. The guide was very kind and nice and showed us around with good explanations and guide. Thank you very much for the lovely time!
It was a wonderful trip to know various aspects of nature in Snaefellsnes Peninsula. Especially our guide Nicole gave us great explanations and interesting stories about the country and the region. She is bright, cheerful, friendly and enthusiastic to entertain the the tour guests by her talking and consideration.
We had a wonderful day on Snaefellsnes! The weather was not great, but tour guide Roman managed his stops brilliantly to avoid the worst rain. He was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the area, personable, and incorporated a couple of extra stops that were fascinating. The peninsula was beautiful! I strongly recommend this tour!
The landscape is beautiful and the tour guide was very nice and funny. The tour was not as interactive as some of the other ones we went on and the bad weather didn't help. Also there were people who constantly came back late causing delays and lost time and the tour guide didn't really do that much about it. Probably because he was too nice.
I booked three day-tours from Guidetoiceland in total, but only when I checked the book information did I realize they were provided by different travel agencies, I have to say NiceTravel is the best among others not only because of its mini group guiding size but also due to its seamless experience. The journey I booked was to Snæfellsnes peninsula. There were eight people in total on that trip, my parents and I got extremely warm greetings from both the tour guide as well as other tourists, the tour guide guided us to all the attractions and what’s more! offered us some bonus trips along the way, stopped at some point giving us time for taking photos. Our group is like a big family companying each other during the whole journey and our cool guide is a typical Scandinavia man who is not that talkative but still answers all the questions you want to know. All in all, I highly recommend NiceTravel and its fabulous service, through which we’ve spent unforgettable experience in Iceland. A small tip for pickup place and time: if you choose BSI bus terminal as the pickup place, just wait at the taxi parking side, the other side belongs to Reykjavík Excursions, the staff of which will be unwilling to answer anything questions regarding other service providers:/ Just wait patiently at the taxi side and your sweet NiceTravel guide would come to you;)
Our guide was excellent - very knowledgeable and accommodating. The sights were even better than we expected them to be. My husband, a geologist, had looked forward to being at the mid-Atlantic ridge and was not disappointed! We would highly recommend Nicetravel.
My family and I enjoyed every last minute on this tour! We had plenty of free time to explore the gorgeous sights we stopped at, not to mention how beautiful everything was. Because our group was somewhat small, we got very close and bonded throughout the day. We saw some pretty remarkable things, and our tour guide answered all of our questions with very detailed answers. And, trust me, we threw some pretty weird questions her way. She did it all flawlessly, and her driving was perfectly smooth despite the rougher road in the area. I loved it and would very highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in seeing this area of the country! Absolutely stunning!
We were asmal group of people, but had greatweaher and a great time. We njoyed it very much, the spanish was very knowledgeable and showed us really very nice settings and left us time enough to explore the sites. The lunch place was nice with good food. Recommend this tour
The sights were great! The guide was awesome. I would recommend Nice Travel to everyone. Thanks
My son and I took a tour thru Nice Travel to the Snaefellsnes Peninsula and loved it! Our tour guide was interesting and took us to so many cool places! the views were like none other. bring your camera and a warm coat. I would do another tour thru Nice Travel again!
I loved this tour and Kris was a brilliant guide. We saw seals, many birds and beautiful seascapes, volcanoes and mountains. 11 hours sounds long but you see so much, and it feels relaxing at the same time.
Our Tour too the Peninsula snaefellsnes was amazing and we could definetly recommend it to you. Our guide Scholee was Also verry friendly and kindfull.
Our guide made all the difference . He narrated history of Iceland throughout our trip, stopped at all the right places and was very friendly especially with our two children . Good planning and execution and I would certainly recommend it
I had a great tour with Thor. The bus was a little cramped, but that's my only complaint. The weather was horrible with the wind and rain, but Thor compensated for that to make sure we still got the best (and safest) tour we could get with the conditions we were given. He had fun and interesting stories, some of which he tailored to entertain the several children onboard. Since Thor is from the peninsula, I feel like we got the best guide possible. He was able to share what it is like living and growing up there like only a local could. The landscape is gorgeous, but having a great guide is what makes the tour. I would highly recommend both the destination and the guide.
What an amazing day! Our guide was a very knowledgeable local with many anecdotes about the history, geography and current affairs. He was very good driver, given that he had to drive in icy and slushy conditions. The only thing that was disappointing that day was the weather - it snowed and sleeted for the first half of the trip. So when we went to Ytri Tunga, many of us did not even get out of the van because of poor visibility. We all got out at Arnastapi and walked along the cliffs along the ocean but the wind soon made us get back into the van quickly and on to the next stop. Kirkjufell was stunning as was one of the black beaches we stopped along the way. It would have been nicer if the weather had been better - but in general the landscape and sites were stunning and helped to make up for the bad weather.
We took the Snaefellsnes day tour with Nice tours. We were picked up by a 15 passenger Mercedes bus 3 blocks from our Air B and B. The driver, Kristoph, was tremendous. He spoke great easily understood English skowly and clearly. He was friendly and gave clear direction for the trip. The van was neat, clean, and quiet. The day wax magical in April. The weather was warm 8 celsius and the sun was bright. The wind was not a problem. The scenery was outstanding. The breaks were well orchestrated and pleasant. This was a great dzy trip
This tour was a great day out with our guide Oli. Unusually sunny weather provided a perfect setting for all the sites. Our guide clearly explained everywhere we were going and even joined us on a few hikes and to go seal watching. A great trip, all around.
The tour was lovely and the sights were beautiful. Long day but worth it. Plenty of stops for food and restrooms. However, 2 things to consider. At lunch they made our whole tour sit together even though we were paying separately. As a solo traveler, I was hopping to use that time to sit by the window of the restaurant and read my book, but they placed us all together in the back of the restaurant. Our driver, Chris, was a very kind man but he spoke the entire time we were on the bus. That was many hours and it was loud so I could not even drown out the noise with my headphones.
We did the 11 hour Snaefellsnes day tour and it was absolutely wonderful - our best day out of 10 days in Iceland. Our tour guide, Thor, was outstanding answering my many-many questions. He frequently shared information as we drove along the route and allowed ample time at each stop to take in the views. Lunch was really good and he helped me select an Icelandic meal from the menu. On the way back we listened to some very good music and chatted freely as we made our way back to Reykjavik, right on time. I highly recommend this tour to anyone.
A wonderful tour with the good fortune of beautiful sunny weather. Our guide Arnar was friendly and engaging and made the most of the time we had to see as much as possible. We had a small group and our guide took the time to make a few extra stops for a photo opportunity or to pet the horses. Our guide also walked with us to some of the sites and told us a little more about the beautiful views we were seeing, Icelandic folklore or how get a the best photos. It was a wonderful tour with the chance to see a little bit of everything that Iceland has to offer. My husband and I had our kids ages 12, and 7 with us and the tour was fun for grown-ups and kids alike.
Good program and great tour guide, Thor. Highly recommended as we had experienced a different Iceland compared to the Southern side. Magnificent views at Hellnar and Kirkjufell!
A wonderful day spent in the Snæfellsnes peninsula. Probably the most amazing tour out of all as it was less touristic than the other more popular destinations. Our tour guide Thor made the day even more exciting with his knowledge of the land and witty jokes. Absolutely great!
Very good guide. We have a wonderful day in Iceland .åƒåŠ 了斯奈山åŠå³¶ä¸€å¤©éŠ 行程充實了å一å°æ™‚ 緊密的景點æ¯å€‹æ™¯é»žå„有特色éžå¸¸éœ‡æ’¼
We had a wonderful one day trip in the Snæfellsnes peninsula. We made lots of stops in the area to see many breathtaking views of the mountains, waterfalls, beaches (one of them was full with seals), lava fields, the famous black church. Our guide Skuli was awesome and very entertaining, he provided us with lots of information about Snæfellsnes and everything in Iceland. I would highly recommend this tour.
Great day trip to the Snaefellsnes Peninsula with nice travel. Our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. The mini bus tour was just right for exploring and learning about the region. I recommend this trip, as well as, the company. We were fortunate to have good weather and our guide took us to amazing and incredible sights. Thank you Nice Travel!
The bus looked very new and clean. Our tour guide Arna (i think this is her name) speaks very well English, she provided us lots of information about the island and the places we went. She took us to a light house that was an extra stop with amazing view. Every place she showed us was just beautiful and fulfilling. The only thing I wish they let us know we would have a very late lunch (around 3:30 pm), we would have brought some sandwiches or snacks with us.
Iceland is a beautiful country. Our guide, forgot her name, was fabulous. It was a rainy day and her positive and upbeat attitude made us not even notice the weather. It's a lot of driving and she interspersed interesting information with times of quiet. She was a wealth of information. I would use this tour company if I were to return to Iceland. She was on time with all her stops. Time at each location was adequate.
Thor is a very great guide. The scenario along the road is very beautiful. Highly recommend everyone to join
This was our last tour in Iceland and unfortunately the least eventful one. Our tour guide was the most dull and unenergetic person we had during our week stay. His voice was very monotone and he barely cracked a smile all day. The day was very rainy and windy which we were already used to but he didn't try and liven up the crowd at all. He also didn't partake in the adventure with us and basically dropped us off at the various sights, briefly explained what trail to take, and then just stayed in the bus and waited for us to come back. I guess we were simply spoiled by our previous tour guide who was very informative, cracked jokes, made random stops to show us extra beautiful sights, and even went on the hikes with us. Although the sights were beautiful, our last tour in Iceland was just mediocre.
The tour is well organized and informative. Our guide is very nice and told us many interesting information during the trip. The scenery is beautiful even though the weather is not so good.
This tour was one of the highlights of my stay in Iceland. The driver/guide, David, was so interesting and took us to some amazing places, some of which weren't officially on the tour but were well worth seeing! The stop in Borgarnes provided some amazing views then it was onto Snaefellsnes to see seals, a golden beach, icelandic horses, a wooden church, stunning coastlines waterfalls, volcanic craters and mountains. The minicoach was comfy and equipped with wifi and usb charging points - perfect for keeping the Insta account updated! I would highly recommend this tour and Nice Travel :)
Der perfekte Tag. Driver/Guide sehr freundlich, kompetent, hilfsbereit, pünktlich und humorvoll. Wir erhielten sehr viele Informationen. Einfach traumhaft schön!!!!!
We loved the trip to Snaefellsnes with our guide Joseph. Pick up was easy and on time, and we really enjoyed the whole day. We had plenty of time at each stop and we felt safe on the road despite heavy snow and ice. I will update definitely recommend this tour and company. The scenery at some of the stops was totally breathtaking.
Our tour guide was Thor Simonarson and he did a great job of making this day perfect. He provided great stories especially since he is from this area. He also provided great insights and other Iceland recommendations. The weather started out rather awful with snow and wind, but by late morning it was much better. It was a huge expectation to have a great day but he met the challenge and went beyond to make our day quite amazing. He also has a great music mix for the van time. Thank you for an amazing day and an amazing guide. We will be back.
Had a great day tour to snaefellsnes on 1/26/2019, small group and wonderful tour guide, we get see everything as they promises and extra more. We missed the bus in the morning (make sure, you get to bus stop at meeting time, not tour time, which is about 30 min, earlier), after got hold of tour guide by phone, he sent a car come get us and meet him at somewhere, we're so appreciated....:-))) The tour is great, we will go with Nice Travel again next time, and highly recommended this company.
The excursion has enchanted me although I would have liked to spend more time in each place. The guide, I do not remember his name (thor .....) great and very friendly, I would repeat with the any excursion. Thank you very much, Nice Travel.
Our guide David is really a professional guide and funny. We fully enjoy the tour and David do provide the information a lot and bring us to see a lot of points, he drive very safe and I feel comfortable during the trip. Stronger recommend this tour
Our guide David is professional energetic and funny. Recommend his 1 day tour strongly!
My mother and I took this tour after a week of exploring other parts of Iceland. This was a wonderful way to end our trip, especially due to our tour guide, Thor. His local knowledge of the peninsula made for a one of a kind experience and I feel like we got all of the fun history that you never get in a tour book or online. Thor is entertainingly informative and despite the hours on the road made for a truly enjoyable day. If you don't have a lot of time to explore the peninsula on your own, this is definitely a great alternative.
Our guide, Thröstur was so helpful and informative. Only 7 of us in his van to Snæfellsnes but it felt like he went out of his way to individualise it for each of us. We saw lava fields, waterfalls, mountains, horses and even a few trolls! Road to see the seals was blocked by snow so he took us to see a little church instead! SO SPECIAL!!! Couldn't recommend this tour highly enough. Our tour through Reykjavik Excursions was ruined due to its large size and inept staff. So stick with Nice Travel for a memorable time. THANKS Thröstur!
This was a brilliant tour. Our driver-guide Christian was really friendly, incredibly informative, funny and interesting. He was also really caring and helpful. The scenery was unbelievable and we stopped in some amazing places. The roads were really icy so he was very careful and I felt very safe with him behind the wheel. Thanks for an awesome day Christian!
What a great day we had! David the previous day had recommended us to do this tour as his friend Thor was taking the small group back to where he grew up and that he'd be able to tell us and show us more about this amazing place.
He didn't disappoint!! The restaurant he took us for lunch was fantastic and the story behind it all.
So glad we took the tour and was also really good being a nice group of 16 (17 including Thor).
Great great day!
I had chosen this tour as I had read Jules Verne's book "Journey to the Centre of the Earth". Skule was an awesome driver. He was also very friendly and genuinely cared that we all would have a nice day. He found a very good balance of making the most use of the very limited daylight hours while also giving us enough time at each stop to explore and to take pictures. He even managed to have the clouds removes from the SnaeffelsYokull for about half an hour :) so we could actually enjoy this special site/sight and take photographs. It is a great tour and I had a wonderful day! Thank you, Skule (and I hope your name is spelled correctly)!
the guide was very nice and very passionate about the views and iceland. he showed us as many view points as possible, and drive safely. the weather was not very nice, but he made best of it.
The tour was very great! The guide offer us to buy sandwich and see more that we should, what is nice! He always drive safety even if the wind make so much snow on the road. I had a good day witg David!
Having done the two day South Iceland tour right before this one, it was hard to compare the staggering beauty of the black sand beach (we stopped by one here, too) with the glacier lagoon & ice cave tour on the glacier. Kirkjufell was the highlight. The day we were out it was pouring rain & the wind was incredible. Getting drenched every time you got out of the van wasn't fun. I wish I did it before I did South Iceland, but I'm glad I got to see a different region, but it was a long day. Our guide was professional & informative.
Thor was a superb tour guide and driver. As he grew up in Snaefellsnes his knowledge of the area was second to none. He was a humorous and informative guide and drove extremely safely in very adverse conditions. Highly recommended and it is so much nice to have a small bus tour (maximum 19 or so) rather than the big bus experience where you are herded around like cattle with 65 or so on a gigantic bus.
Really nice tour guide, Mikel! All the journey he has been very helpful and friendly. Nice explanation on spots we have been to, and really good driver!
Tour guide is great and nice. i love it.
Had a great time! Our guide was very friendly and very knowledgeable about Iceland. He always gave facts while driving us to our destination. All the places we went to were beautiful. Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone that wants to go.
Though winter might not be the best time due to short daylight, definitely worth a visit to the beautiful peninsular. Good to look for seals with binoculars. Our guide was knowledgeable and had some good sense of Icelandic humor.
Knowledgeable and friendly guide very pleasant trip
Had a great time on the tour! Our host David was very knowledgeable and pointed out many interesting facts and folklore tales throughout the journey. Stopped at many beautiful locations including Kirkjufell and my personal favourite Hellnar. The trip was rounded off with a visit to a seal colony, where we saw 4 of them swimming around. Would highly recommend!
Mini Van/Bus was so far the best compared to the other tour operators. It was new, clean and comfortable. Free WiFi ok bus too. Guide was great and knowledgeable. We had ample time at each stop for photos.. Was a careful driver and always made sure we buckled up and drove carefully in the snowy and wet roads.
Most knowledgeable guide I have ever seen! We asked him a bunch of questions regarding local culture, geology, literature and music. He answered fluently with vivid descriptions and great passion. He even sang a song for us! Plus, he reminded us of the Northern lights on our way back to Reykjavik, which was an enormous surprise for us!! The weather was furious yesterday, but he managed to drive smoothly. Overall, great guide, unforgettable trip. Highly recommend.
Very friendly guide who was very informative and guiding us through. One thing i would suggest to the tour operator would be to reduce the amount of time spent on lunch stop ~50 mins which is pretty high especially during December time when the daylight is just 4 hrs / day. Apart from that, was a well guided tour. Highly recommend.
I from Macau, tour guide is very nice, and the driving skills are very good, the car has wifi and charging. All of the Attractions the tour have introduced to us.They give enough time to take a photo,I think the car should be play more music and this is the nice experience.
We've had a very nice time in Snaefellsness peninsula taking a minibus tour with Nice Travel . Our guide Skolli (sorry if I misspell his name ) gave us lots of informations about the places we visited , and also told us a lot about Iceland , history ,geology , culture ,stories ...It was very nice to have a "local guy" as guide ! Organisation was very good , and he was taking good care of all of us. Defenetly going with nice travel for our next tour ! Thanks for a great day :)
The tour with nicetravel and our guide Nicole was awesome. We saw beautiful places during the ride and the stops. For every stop was enough time given to take a look around, make pictures and enjoy the magnificent view (min 20 mins up to 60 mins). The stories Nicole told us in perfect english during the ride were entertaining and gave us a lot of information about Iceland. So beside the country itself we learned much about the icelandic culture, the people and their lifes. There were also stories about specific locations we stopped. Nicole got a great taste in music so the ride was even better. At the end of the tour we went to a restaurant. I have to admit that this place wasn't good at all. I never met such rude staff in my whole life and the food was nearly inedible. So recommend changing the restaurant for dinner maybe in another city or so. Besides that I understand that no other restaurant was open and there was no real choice. After all the tour was worth the money and we would participate again with pleasure.
Hola la experiencia fue bonita, los sitios visitados eran muy bonitos. El guÃa Mika era súper profesional, atento y además bien conductor ya que habÃa hielo en la carretera y conducÃa súper bien sintiéndonos seguros en todo momento. Recomendable 100%
The tour was awesome! Our guide Thor was a friendly and charming local raised on the peninsula with some great personal stories (and an awesome moustache). We had a lovely trip, good weather and plenty of time to enjoy the sights. Thor was full of information about the places we visited and the way of life there. The volcanic landscape is picturesque and profoundly beautiful, and we saw a very photogenic seal sunning himself. Definitely worth a visit, stay longer if you can there's so much to see. A truly fun day and a great way to learn about the Icelandic lifestyle.
This day tour was the best in my entire trip in Iceland. We Our guide (Mika) was very nice and professional. Though it was winter with short day time, the guide maximized the daylight time and took us a lot of places as much as possible also with paying great attention to take enough break for everyone . All spots were magnicifent and breathtaking. I also enjoyed time while driving a lot. The ban was very cozy and all views from the ban was very beutiful, and the guilde told us lots of interesting stories about Iceland. At the end of the tour, I soon found I left my phone in the ban and called the company for a help. Though it was late evening, the company contacted to the guide immediatly and he came back to my drop-off point to find my phone. I really appreciated and could not stop thanking to them. I would love to join another tour when I visit iceland again.
Excellent day tour with a great guide (Mikhail). This tour is certainly worth doing if you have a few days in Iceland. NICE travel was prompt and Mikhail was informative - giving lots of great anecdotes and information about the country as well as the sights. This was why we paid for a tour rather than just doing a self drive - the opportunity to get the "inside story" as it were and Mikhail was good at proactively giving information. There was sufficient time at each site for enjoying the view, taking pictures, loo breaks etc. Overall, I'd recommend this trip to anyone. Be warned though - when they say full day, they mean full day - I'm talking 8.30am pick up to 7.30pm-8pm drop off depending on where you are based. My tip is maybe not to book these trips back to back if you have the time to spare. Otherwise - brilliant tour with a brilliant company. Would use again.
It's great tour to the Snaefelsnes National Park. Our guide drive safely and introduce each spot detailed
Awesome day with Thor as our guide. He is funny and showed us the snaefelsness peninsula with great enthusiasm. Lots of time to see the beautifull sites and take photos. Do not miss out on this. Took my 3 day south coast also with these guys. And decided i will not book with anyone else again.
We had the most wonderful day discovering the Snaefellsnes Peninsular NP. Skuli our guide was knowledgeable about the history of the area and we stopped at so many sights and had plenty of time to walk and take photos. Highly recommend this tour to see sights that are only found in this part of Iceland. It is truly spectacular.
This Day-Tour shows so many places! Its perfect to see a lot of iceland in just one day. Our tour-guide, David, was very competently and a very save driver. He explained a lot and made lots of extrastops.
We had a great Golden Circle tour with Nicetravel last winter and we were looking forward to our Snaefellsnes tour last Thursday but a number of factors contributed to this tour being less than ideal. For me, the major factor was our driver/guide "Roman." Though Roman speaks Icelandic and English, he has a thick Ukrainian accent, making him very hard to understand. Further, he did not seem to know how to speak into his microphone in a way that did not generate significant sound distortion. The combination of his thick accent and the distortion of his microphone made him very hard to listen to and understand. My wife and I were also bothered by his driving which seemed somewhat jerky and erratic. On our return to Reykjavik, Roman gave us one bathroom break then proceeded to drive for over two hours without another. Further, the weather for our tour was atrocious. I realize that you can't control the weather but, in your publicity for the tour, it may be advisable to encourage people to bring appropriate rain gear. We were lashed by the wind and pelted by icy needles of rain at every stop along the way. By the end of the tour, we were completely drenched. As for the scenery itself, it was breathtaking but would have been more fun to see if weather conditions had been better. We like the small group approach of Nicetravel and will probably take more tours with your company when we return to Iceland but this day trip was not that much fun.
Of all the tours we did in Iceland, this was the most enjoyable and personalized because of our tour guide Thor who grew up on Snaefellsnes. Snaefellsnes is truly a "mini Iceland" and a great way to see the various terrain from waterfalls to volcanoes to beaches to rock formations all in one day. The minibus with small group is a great option for this tour despite the long day. We traveled with our two kids (ages 10 and 12). Our guide Thor was obviously very knowledgeable of all the sights and made extra add-on stops. We stopped off for "group lunch" at his brothers restaurant off the ring road and treated with real hospitality. Of the tours we did including Jokurlson Glacier Lagoon w/ boat, Icelandic horse tour, Lava Tunnel, Whales/Puffin, Golden Circle and Blue Lagoon, this was truly our most enjoyable Icelandic tour! Would highly recommend this tour if you have time.
We had a just great tour to the Snaefelsnes National Park. Roman, our guide managed to do everything right and on time. He stopped at all designated places giving all kind of information about them. It was a real pleasure having him as a guide. It was a fun day!!!
Thor was a fantastic tour guide and pointed out many amazing sights. Would absolutely recommend this tour!
Wonderful tour. We saw SO MANY more sights than on any other tour we did in Iceland that definitely made it worth a little more money. I think we stopped at least 10-15 times on this tour at gorgeous look outs and sites. The Kirkujell mountain was an absolute highlight of mine. Our guide also knew of a waterfall where there was no path to get to so he led us on a quick 5-10 minute walk out in the countryside to it. Amazingly scenic views - cliffsides, oceans, mountains, seals, hiking up a volcano, waterfalls - and he took us to a little country restaurant that was delicious and not crowded at all. This tour really had it all. Also a plus point: MUCH less tourist traffic than routes such as Golden Circle and South Shore. Highly recommend!
I chose to do this tour on my birthday and I definitely did not regret it!! It was by far the best tour we did in Iceland (we also did golden circle, secret lagoon, glacier lagoon and northern lights). The seals colony was adorable and the black coast insanely cool. Even though the weather was crazy it was still super enjoyable and our guide was very sweet :)
We recently went on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula Tour and loved it! The scenery is spectacular! There were times we didn't know which way to look because we were surrounded with such beauty. Our tour guide, Einar, was terrific. He was very interesting, informative and had a great sense of humor. He gave us plenty of time to take pictures, walked us to the best locations for pictures and made sure that there was still daylight when we reached our last stop which, of course, was beautiful and definitely a picture stop. We were very happy with Nice and we will definitely travel with them again when we return to Iceland.
We had a great time on this tour. Put your guide Arnar was incredible. He was patient and kind and very knowledgeable. He told us lots of great stories and shared some great history about the sites we saw. My mom and I had a northern lights tour to catch that evening and Arnar made sure that we got to where we needed to be on time. We saw some beautiful places and had plenty of time to enjoy the scenery at the stops. We weren't rushed at all. I highly recommend this tour!
We had a wonderful tour with our guide Andrea through Nice Travel. We had a snowy day so one of the roads we needed to drive was closed, but we took a different route with incredible views. Our guide was kind, polite, and informative and made sure everyone in the group had plenty of chances to get food when needed. Highly recommended!
This tour was with Nice Travel, which should be renamed Awesome Travel. This day tour was excellent, we did several tours, which we all enjoyed, but this was the best by far. Thor our guide for the day was superb. Having been bought up in Snæfellsnes, he has traveled the world, but has now returned home to Iceland and now lives in Snæfellsnes. So he is very knowledgeable about the area, it's people, history and what's happening now. The area is beautiful and far from the crowds of The Golden Circle. Thor also took us to his brothers restaurant for a delicious lunch, over looking the ocean. Perfect. We went to many different locations, seeing seals, mountains, waterfalls, black beaches, they all had amazing scenery and we were told a little be of the history of each area. This tour was definitely the highlight of our holiday to Iceland . This was an amazing trip and one we will remember for a very long time.
I did 3 tours while in Iceland and this one was by far my favorite! If you can only do 1 tour make it this one!! You see everything from tundra and lava fields to volcanic craters and black sand beaches with beautiful rock formations (sea stacks). I would give one piece of advice if going in winter --- bring crampons or some other type of ice cleats. We encountered a significant amount of ice in the places we visited and having a pair would have made the day much more enjoyable.
I had a day tour 04 Jan 2018, we went this tour with Roman who is a guide for this tour for us today. Firstly I cannot tell how that was amazing in the letters. we went the basic course route but! we also went some extra spots and Roman managed time for the sightseeing like the daytime of winter Iceland is quite short so he managed the time to see all these courses directly in daytime so we could take some pictures so clearly and after we did that, Roman provided extra time for some extra spots that it is not included on this trip, he gave some time for seeing the big crater and could watch the amazing crater and can see the huge ocean and glacier volcano at the same moment on the top of crater. Then on the way back to the Reykjavik, we talked with Roman every spot where we from or why we come here then the common reason for the Iceland tour was seeing northern light, so he kept checking the night sky to let us know is there have any northen lights from Snæfellsnes area to Reykjavik, that means we had a tour with really good weather so he found the huge and clear northern light so we stopped somewhere on the road and he gave a time for taking picture or watching some lights there, we could watch the northern light through the eyes without camera, also we watch alot of stars in the sky, I did not believe the fantasy star picture of the stars flowing like a water. but after this seeing, I watched this fantastic stars and northern lights by my eyes in real, so I started to believe and cannot forget this tour forever. Also, he stopped one more time before arriving Reykjavik to take more pictures for the northern light, that was totally amazing and want to give 1milion stars to Roman. Thank you so much today Roman and you gave an unforgettable memory to me. :)
This was the third tour we did in Iceland and the only one that wasn't a disappointment. The other companies wth did toes wth treated the experience like a production line; do this, go there, hurry up, monotone speal, and some things that were poor form like visiting one waterfall in the dark ("but you still got to see it").. Plus very poor communication when things didn't work out. Enough of me venting - this company was so different! They were so responsive with booking even though we were last minute. Our guide Ross was relaxed and friendly, with a good sense of humour and told us lots of insightful information. He also made sure we made the most of the limited daylight available. The scenery is beautiful, much less touristy area and we got to see a lot. Thank you!
Excellent tour! Our guide Thor was fantastic and we really lucked out with the weather. Everywhere we visited was breathtaking. The bus was very comfortable, and heated, which was lovely for when we'd be returning from a cold visit. The bus also has USB ports to charge your phone, etc. Plenty of bathroom stops along the way.
I had an amazing time w/this tour. Thor was our tour guide, and hands down the best tour guide we had w/any of the tour companies we used. He was very knowledgable about the area, friendly and very engaging with the passengers, it gave a personable touch to everything. I will never forget how amazing the tour and Thor was.
Guide/Driver was very knowledgeable and humourous. The van was very new with usb plugs which you can charge ur handphone with. The tour can be quite long 11-12 hrs. So got to bear with it.
We had a wonderful day exploring Snaefellsnes with Michal as our driver/guide. The weather was not the most cooperative with intermittent rain and lots of low cloud cover, but when in Iceland, that is to be expected. At least it was not too cold or too windy! We were able to see almost everything in the limited amount of daylight that we had, and we loved all of our stops. There was a strange bit of trickery from the Elves who live in the area, but that only added to intrigue of the day. Fortunately, all turned out fine in the end. Thanks, Michal, for that last bit of help with the phone! We highly recommend this tour!
Our guide Thor made our excursion to this wonderful region both educational and fun. Because he was from the region, we were privy to anecdotes that spanned several generations and our lunch stop was his brother's restaurant. The ride was so comfortable and the scenery so gorgeous that getting there was half the fun. Highly recommended!
I would highly recommend Guide to Iceland to book your tours throughout Iceland. We booked this tour but we were unable to travel to the peninsula due to extremely high winds. Our guide, Roman from Nicetravel was very concerned with the safety of the passengers in the minibus so he quickly organized a different trip which turned out to be incredible! He had to make some last minute decisions and for our safety, we ended up staying together with another guide, Michel and his passengers who were on a similar tour. I was very impressed with Roman as he took safety as his number one priority as our 17 year old daughter was with us. The sights we saw and the experiences we had on the diverted tour were amazing! Roman and Michel led the way on our hikes and adventures and were very knowledgeable about Iceland. I highly recommend this company!
I had such an amazing experience on this tour. Due to weather conditions (high wind speeds) we could not go to Snæfellsnes, our tour guide Roman, along with another guide with the same company, Michael, took us to a different area instead. It was amazing regardless. I was very happy that they took priority on our safety, and drive very well on the ride home, regardless it being 25m/s wind speeds. Definitely recommend!
I wasn’t expecting much from this tour but it totally surprised me. The places we visited are all amazing. Of course, the weather played her part on it. We were lucky to have the sun shining. Our guide Jaka (Nice Travel)is also amazing and engaging. He has a good quality voice, you can hear him properly and his accent is clear. He is full of information, and stories that I learned some things about Iceland. He opened the door for every passenger, cared to remind us to fasten our seatbelts, and even at the end of the tour he was still enthusiastic. Why this mattered to me is because I have a comparison with anothe tour company that lacks this small but personal services. For me, we also were given enough time for each stops. I was glad it we weren’t just dropped off to a place and waited to come back. We had short walks around the area where our tour guide shared facts about the place. This was the most satisfying tour we had in terms of service.
This was a great tour. Excellent guide, stunning scenery and enough time to explore the different places where we stopped. Weather-wise we had everything from sunshine to a short blizzard, and many parts of the peninsula were a winter wonderland. Plus, you learn some things about Icelandic history and the formation of the landscape. I would highly recommend this tour to solo travelers or anyone else who would rather not drive themselves.
BEST tour! I was a single, female traveler going to Iceland for the first time, I was only in Reykjavik a few days so I only had time for one tour, I did a quick search to find which would be the best, I was not disappointed. This was definitely the best tour if you can only do one. The guides were great, the bus was small and the group was small. There were several other single travelers and we all joined together for pictures and lunch. The guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and as an added bonus they had the best music for our long car ride!! I've already recommended this to everyone I know!
Great tour with fantastic scenery -- the Snaefellsnes peninsula is extremely beautiful.
The Snaefellsnes tour is awesome in sun or cloud. The day started in sunshine but gradually high clouds moved in to make for interesting lighting for the return half of the tour. Guide Andre's studies in environmental sciences made him expert at describing the volcanic landscape and its features. Walking behind a waterfall was an amazing experience on this trip.
Trip was wonderful, aided by a gorgeous sunny day. David, our guide, was most informative, and showed us some very special places. The driving time was long, but that was a fair trade-off for the spectacular scenery.
Very nice trip, and a great guide/driver that was local to the area and for that reason able to give information that probably noone else would. The only slightly negative thing about the tour is all the hours spent driving.
The West coast of Iceland is all about seals, gliding birds, mountains, waterfalls. black beaches and rough coastline displayed in a kaleidoscope of changing weather. Forgot your rain gear? They will rent you some. Our small group tucked into a modern, clean lunch room for warm soup. We were in good hands with our knowledgeable guide, Einer and our competent driver. What would it be like to come back and see this stunning area - a microcosm of Icelandic geography - in the winter?
Fabulous day with more beautiful sights than possible to see in one day . Antonio our guide was informative caring and funny. A long day but paced well and so worth the time . Loved it !!!
"Wonderful!!! We went to Ytri Tunga where we saw lots of seals. After, we went to Arnarstapi with its beautiful rocks sculptured by the waves and the wind. Then, we went to Lóndragar for seeing the two high towers that resisted so many years the erosion. Next, we headed to Djúpalowssadur, the black lava beach, there we could see the iron pieces from the British trawler, The Epine GY7, which was wrecked east of DritvÃÂk cove on the night of 13th March 1948. We also saw one of the two lagoons, as well as, the four stones that fishermen had to lift in order to try their strength, The biggest stone is called Fullsterkur - Strong and weights 154 kg and only the very strong can lift that one. The second one is called Hálfsterkur - Half-Strong and weighs 100 kg. The third one is called Hálfdrættingur - Half as good and weighs 54 kg, and the forth one is called Amlóði or Lightweight and weighs 23 kg. From their we headed to Kirkjufell and Kirjufellfoss, where we drunk water from the river. Our driver Valdi was excellent and our guide Jaka very good, he explained very well everything the geological factors, the legends... everything. We could realise that he loves his job. The tour operator was Nicetravel. M. Antonia Carreras (Catalonia)"
Our tour guide, Yaka, was extremely knowledgeable regarding the Snæfellsnes peninsula. He shared much about the history, culture, and geology of Iceland. If we rented a car and drove the peninsula ourselves, we would've missed out on learning about the area; thus, I highly recommend this tour! There were only 10 of us on the tour, which was a good size. The drive to the first stop (seal colony) is a bit of a drive, but we had a 20 minute break in Borgarnes. There are a few cute, local shops there, which I recommend stopping in during the break. Don't fall asleep on the bus because you'll miss the incredible scenery. The Snæfellsnes peninsula changes from mountains to beach to lava fields and back in a matter of minutes. This tour was my favorite part of the trip; it was unlike anything else we did in Iceland.
I really enjoyed the tour, mostly because of the beautiful landscape of Snaefellsnes, but also because of our guide, Jaka, who was amazing in explaining Icelandic history and culture! He was also very funny and he knows a lot of secret places to show us! I recommend this trip!
This is a stunning part of Iceland, and well worth seeing. Our guide (whose name I've unfortunately forgotten - apart from that it meant 'wolf'!) was great - very friendly and funny, and had plenty of interesting stories to tell. He and the driver were happy to spend extra time where we wanted. The small sizes of the groups are nice as well. Just make sure you rug up for the walks along the coast, even in Iceland's "warmer" months!
Snaefellsnes is a must-see in your trip to Iceland! We had a small group of about 10 people which proved to be the perfect size. We also had a very personable tour guide, Antonio, who took us to so many great stops and even let us stop to pet horses and see more waterfalls than originally intended. Would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone going to Iceland, it was definitely the best tour we had!
Obrigado!!We loved the tour, the scenery is spectacular and we enjoyed wonderful sites. (Despite the weather ... which improved throughout the day ....) the guide Tomasz was very helpfull and friendly, conveying information in an appealing way. The tour with Nice travel was one of the best we did, the fact that the guide always accompanies us along the route makes it more interesting because the information is transmitted on the spot. Thank you!!
Antonio was fun and did his best to make the tour as good as he could. Thanks for stopping at horses.
Thor was our tour guide and he was amazing, very knowledgeable and never felt rush if we wanted to spent extra time at certain places
Best tour while in Iceland no doubt. Antonio was a great guide and made sure that we not only got to the spots on the tour but also that we had a great time. The driver was also very nice.
Had such an amazing day seeing the peninsula. There was only 4 of us on the tour so it made it a lot more personable. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and very friendly an showed a real love and passion for Iceland. The whole journey was breath taking as we were driving and at all of the stops. There was plenty of time at all of the sights and he also added in a lot of extra stops along the way including a cool secret waterfall. The wind was 100km an hour and I felt perfectly safe with the guide driving. Would definitely recommend this tour to everyone.
Great day - striking scenary, nesting kittiwakes, oyster catchers, seals, close encounter with iceland horses, super lunch (delicious fish soup) at Langaholt Restuarant, Thor was a great guide. Very glad I went on this tour!!
This tour was my favorite of all the tours I was on this past week. Thor was a great guide as well as funny. Snæfellsnes peninsula is one of the most breathtaking places I have ever seen. The black pebble beach was amazing. I did not at any moment feel rushed at any one location we visited. I also appreciated the smaller size of the tour group (15 people), so it felt more personal. I enjoyed the vegetable soup at the Langholt Restaurant. Great tour all around!!
This was one of my favorite tours in Iceland. If you are only visiting Iceland for a short while I would highly recommended not letting this opportunity slip by. Our tour guide was amazing, very personable and funny, singing occasionally to us through the microphone. The volcanic rocky countryside, black pebble beaches, mountains jutting straight out of the ocean made for the most georgeous views of my trip thus so far.
The guide David is really patient, helpful and humorous!!! Best travel experience ever!! We also took another tour by "Nicetravel" as well. All the service and the tour were amazing!!! And David led us to watch the Aurora late at night. He was also a very professional photographer!! :)
This trip is absolutely gorgeous! The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable, and provided so much information. Unfortunately, the weather was awful so there was low visibility on the day we went. This can happen (it's Iceland after all) so our guide was nice enough to take us to a local shark museum where we learned all about the trade and preserving/fermenting shark. (And we got to try some!)
This tour was amazing. Tour Guide Lucia was perfect - knowledgeable, funny and intuitive - and our driver was exceptional. We took tours to the South Coast and the Golden Circle as well through different companies (because I'm pretty sure those two tours are required for all tourists), but this tour was more in-depth and provided so many experiences and a lot of varied landscape. History, geology, culture, natural wonders, an amazing lunch, time for wonder and contemplation, time to connect with nature, seals, goats, eiderdown, kelp and a lighthouse. And so much more. If you can only schedule one tour, this is the one to do. https://www.facebook.com/brett.england.5/media_set?set=a.10155207470180842.1073741939.563675841&type=1&l=afd17fe463 https://www.facebook.com/brett.england.5/media_set?set=a.10155207666425842.1073741940.563675841&type=1&l=d6b12ff45b
I took this tour end of March, the weather was not too cold but super windy. The experience is so unique and view were astonishing. Our guide David is a super gentle, knowledge and humorous guy. He made our trip very smooth and impressive. I definitely recommend everyone take this tour. Only thing keep in mind, the wind could blow you away!!!
This is a great tour. Great company and guide. We had David as our guide. He's knowledgeable and went extra mile to show us each places personally. I would recommend taking this tour company. Great job.
I attended the tour on Thursday March 23. I am very pleased with the service provided. The guides Michal (driver) and Jaka (guide) arrived on time. The vehicle was comfortable and clean. The time we spent on the stops was adequate and the guides were in formative. They answered any questions we had about Iceland and Icelandic culture. It was a fun day even with the adverse weather. I am glad I could attend the day tour.
The guide is super friendly and considerate. Time management is great as we got fair enough time to stay at each point. All the scenic spots in western coasts are great! And there are comparatively less tourists here and thus the atmosphere is so enjoyable.
Amazing tour, incredible scenery , breathtaking coast and black sand beach , lovely sea seal and iclandic horses . a 30 mins walking along the coast is the most favourite part. The tour is full so its a little bit crowded in bus. The guide is nice , friendly and knowledgable. Highly recommanded to join this tour!
"superbe journée, avec de multiples paysages et décors extraordinaires. guide à l'écoute des passagers"
We did this tour with a tiny group of 5 and a single driver/guide. Our guide was practical and answered questions about the various terrain we traversed. He did spend more time on his phone than other day trip guides we'd been with, especially at lunch, and rather worryingly while driving. He did seem more distant and less engaging than our other tour guides we'd had on other trips - I used the free wifi to look up folklore and other stories as we weren't getting them from our guide. The drive considering the sheer amount of snow, wind and varied conditions was smooth, and he even stopped to offer help someone whose car had come off the road. The car was comfortable, and the WiFi was a nice touch. The stops were all lovely, especially the cliffside walk and the beach. The tour was well organised, though I suspect it may be nicer in the summer. The snow covered terrain is beautiful, though the seals were I hiding and the ground sometimes difficult to navigate - decent footwear definitely needed! My only negative point of this tour was lunch. Our lunch stop was at a restaurant, with typical high Icelandic prices and a very limited menu. This was the only tour I've been on which did this, allowing the option of bringing your own or stopping at gas stations with different options. (We expected the latter for a "we make a stop for lunch") guidance. Would much rather have done that and a shorter stop than waste an hours daylight indoors. I'd definitely recommend this trip, but be warned about lunch!
This tour was the highlight of my Icelandic vacation! The sights were remarkable and our tour guide was knowledgeable, dynamic, friendly, and helpful, and really made landscape, history, and tradition come alive. Also, the small tour group makes for a much more personalized experience. I highly recommend it!
The tour was incredible! Worth every penny! The scenery was breathtaking and the tour stopped at a great set of locations, with plenty of time at each to take in the beauty. Our tour guide was really friendly and knowledgable and seemed to have a real passion for the tour and the scenery. The tour group size was perfect, not too over crowded and felt more personal. We definitely book again when I visit in the summer!!
Amazing tour!Amazing view!Handsom Friendly guide! Our tour is on Feb 27,2017.Our group is quite small and everyone enjoys this tour.We saw great cliffs, beautiful black beach and fantastic vocanoes covered by thick snow.Since I love animals very much , the guide stopped our car near to a horse field providing me an opportunity to see the horses in close distance. What's more, we are lucky enough to see the seals in far distance which left me a deep impression.During the journey, our guide told us a lot of interesting facts about glacious, vocanoes and the landscape of iceland and at each stop he always show us the best place to take photos.
Amazing tour! It was recommendet to me by Tryggvi from Nice Travel after I booked the wrong tour first and needed to cancel it. The cancelation of my previous tour went without any problems, the communication with Nice Travel was excelent. Everyone from the company was super nice and always willing to help. The groups are rather small and this makes this tour expirience even better. Our driver Dushan and our guide Antonio made this tour perfect. Always smiling, joking, very patient and ready to help, give advices or answer questions all the time during the tour. Our guide Antonio is very knowledgeable. He told us a lot of interesting facts about vulcanos, glaciers, rock formations and Iceland and it's stuning nature in generally as well. We walked as a group during all of our stops. He showed us the best places to take photos from. He even geave us tips on nice Icelandic music and he helped me with the settings of my camera since I had a Northern Lights tour in the evening and didn't know exactly what the best settings for the Aurora activity on this night were. The landscapes that you are going to see on this tour are going to take your breath away! We saw seals, experienced amazing views and had a great time during the whole day. I enjoyed the tour a lot and would highly recommend it anytime!
First time Iceland traveler and I can say Nicetravel was by far the best experience I had with any of the tour companies. Our tour guide Antonio, was amazing and our driver, Dushan was as well. Antonio was very personable and down to earth and gave us the best tour guide experience that money has to offer as opposed to the other larger cookie cutter companies which offer a take it or leave it experience. If you are looking for a diverse landscape and scenic experience then this is one of the best to choose. I am a fully satisfied customer and would travel with Nicetravel again next time!
Highly recommend! It has been a perfect day! And probably the best tour I have been done. Must say everything is well organised by Nice travel! The tour guide Antonio is really a nice guy, he seems have a lot knowledge in every field! He told us a lot about the Icelandic history and volcanoes, he even knows the height of a lot of volcanoes! When arriving the landscapes, he leaded us to the perfect place to take photos. We even saw the seals and Icelandic horses closely! And the final sight National park was really amazing! I was really enjoyed in this tour. By the way the wifi on bus is really fast!
Nice Tours operates smaller tours, with aire personalized feel. Everything about my interactions with this tour company was positive (unlike my mediocre interactions with others). The tour guide was friendly, patient, and helpful. I stayed in Borgarnes and this company was the only one that agreed to pick me up there, as the tour stops at the N1. I highly recommend this tour company. I also enjoyed Snaeffelus and would recommend the one day tour. Lots of riding in the van (there's wifi), but beautiful landscapes--even in the fog.
I visited the National Park with Nicetravel and it was a truly breathtaking experience. The scenery is astonishing and the longer you see it the less likely that you will accept that this place is in fact on Earth. The experience was made even better with the very knowledgeable guide who not only shared fun facts and trivias but was funny too.
What an incredible day. We were slightly fortunate, in that the main bus was too full, so we had a smaller group of only six. Our guide, Johannes, was full of insight and a very good host. It's a long day, this one, but trust me, it's worth it. The places you'll visit are breathtaking, and having a knowledgeable and likeable guide only adds to the experience. Brilliant.
I enjoyed the day despite the crazy weather. Really enjoyed talking to the driver Mike about life as an Icelander. Glad I brought my waterproof jacket, pants, boots and gloves. Just wish I could have taken better pictures cause my camera lens kept getting wet from the horizontal rain. When it cleared we hiked up a volcanic cone which was awesome cause we couldn't drive around the entire peninsula because of the dangerous winds. It was a memorable adventurous day! The power of the ocean is inspiring.
Amazing nature with incredible sights. Really recommend this tour to everyone. Great driver and interesting tour guide.
The formula is really appreciated! A lot less formal than any other day tours, and since it's a small group, it's easy to get to know each other. The guide sits in the back with every one and in between interesting information on the places we are visiting, he talked with each of us to get to know us. Add to that absolutely beautiful landscapes and you get an incredible day! Overall the best day tour I had in my trip to Iceland :)
The landscape is amazing, even more impressive than the south coast. And our guide Anna is helpful and very friendly.
