What to expect

The glittering jewels in Iceland’s crown, the Golden Circle and the Blue Lagoon are always at the top of everyone’s list of “must-see places” here!

On this comfortable and convenient one-day tour, you will witness the wonders of Thingvellir National Park, feel the power of nature at Geysir and the Gullfoss waterfall, marvel at the colorful Kerid volcanic crater and bathe in the warm waters of the Blue Lagoon (extra cost).

Thingvellir National Park

The tour begins with a scenic drive from Reykjavik to Thingvellir National Park, where the spectacular split between the American and Eurasian tectonic plates can be seen, giving you the unmatched opportunity to stand with your feet on two continents at the same time.

Thingvellir was also the home of Iceland’s first Parliament, established by the Vikings in 930AD and it’s now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Geysir & Haukadalur Geothermal Area

After seeing the majestic sights of Thingvellir, you will travel onwards to Geysir.

The hot springs and bubbling mudpots of Geysir are known throughout the world. One of the geysirs, Strokkur, reliably erupts to heights of up to 30 meters every few minutes. It’s possible to get quite close to Strokkur too, but it’s wise to check the wind direction first!

Gullfoss - The Golden Waterfall

Next on your itinerary is Gullfoss, which translates as the “Golden waterfall”, but keep an eye out for the beautiful Icelandic horses and for Langjokull glacier as we make our way there.

Gullfoss is a double drop waterfall with a cascade of more than 30 meters, producing endless sheets of spray as millions of gallons of water crash down into a narrow canyon.

It’s a natural marvel at any time of the year and there are several spots to get a great view of this magical waterfall, setting off countless rainbows when the sun shines, and just as stunning on icy winter days too.

Kerid Volcanic Crater

These three amazing attractions complete the classic Golden Circle tour, but we will also take you to see the multi-colored volcanic crater at Kerid on a different route back to Reykjavik, passing by Reykholt and her famous tomato plant greenhouses on the way.

Three thousand years old, 50m deep and 270m wide, a walk around this crater with its dramatic mix of colors is an amazing spectacle.

Blue Lagoon (admission included)

Then, we will make our way to the Blue Lagoon, through the rugged Reykjanes peninsula, across vast lava fields and enjoying stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean.

It is now time for you to get prepared for the most relaxing part of your day, bathing in the iconic naturally-heated waters of the world-famous Blue Lagoon. It’s sold out on most dates, but as our tour includes all admission tickets, you can look forward to enjoying this unique spot as soon as you have completed your booking.

After spending two hours at the Blue Lagoon, it will be time to head back to Reykjavik’s bright lights, where you can reflect on a fantastic day and enjoy the rest of your night in the capital city.
